This is the greatest video I ever found! I have been trying to print my Christmas mailing labels on my MAC for about 6 years now. I could get regular black and white labels, but I wanted something different. The instructions in the video were so clear and easy to follow. Thank you, Joel!!!
Hi @Lori Zydlo! I'm so happy this was helpful for you! This was one of those videos that I decided to make purely because I do the same thing myself, and I figured why not! New here, loving your videos! Any tips on using Contacts for a holiday mailing list when I want the name on the label to be different from the main contact name? For instance, instead of a label for each individual in the Smith family, I just need one label with the name line as The Smith Family. Do I need to make a new contact for each family to accomplish this? Thank you!
Such a great question @vbbeyer! This is one of the most frustrating things regarding to labels in Contacts, and here is my workaround and what I do. I personally like the label to read: The Feld Family, or The Johnson Family along with the address....and because there's no way to add a prefix and even trying to make it a Company or nickname, it just does not work well. So I created a completely separate email account. It could be iCloud, gmail, or whatever. Doesn't really matter. Then I export all of my contacts out and import them into this new email account, and then I update the names to read as the title of the label, EX: The Feld Family. And then honestly I just use that email account for labels. It makes it way easier every single year and I have to change very minimal things each year. Plus you can toggle on and off the account in preferences if you don't want to see it. So that's the best I got! I hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching! Why am I not seeing any of your new videos Joel? I haven’t seen one in months. Are you still doing videos. Yes I have Notifications on and subscribe to your channel.
Hi @Ric West! Yes i'm still will be making content! I've been taking a little time with family the past couple months and learning some of the new features in iOS16 and macOS Ventura. So I will be posting lots of content very soon! Stay tuned and thanks so much for the continued support!
Great question @Cheryl! Yes it's possible to do mailing labels on your iPad, but not like this. Your best bet would be to visit Avery's website and use their pre-created templates. On there you're able to download templates for specific label sizes. They offer Apple Pages templates that would work perfectly on any Apple Device like your iPad. Link to common template below: www.avery.com/templates/8160 Long story short, after you download the template, you would open the file within Apple Pages but you would have to individually type in the info in each label space. I think I'll add this as a possible future video. Thanks so much for watching! If this video was helpful and you learned something new, please SUBSCRIBE to my channel if you haven’t already! Thank you. But may I ask how one prints labels not from their contact list. What if I make an Numbers or Excel list of addresses and want to print labels for such a list?
Hi @Sheldon Hough! This is a great question and for sure expands beyond this tutorial! I haven't made a video on this yet, but you would have to do a mail merge using Numbers/Excel with Pages/Word. It's a bit more in depth, but I did find an article for you that may help that i'll link in this comment! Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate the continued support! www.macworld.com/article/224773/how-to-create-mail-merge-documents-with-pages-and-numbers.html
Hi @Daniel Bradford! I'm happy you found 20 seconds that was possibly worth while for you, but sometimes explaining the background context for some viewers is also important. Thanks so much for watching!
