Supplementary information for the Courses (段位認定) The 11th to 22nd Dan are in a separate category called True Dan (真段位認定), this category can only be unlocked after passing the 10th Dan. In the Regular Dan (1st to 10th), you can continue playing the songs even if you fail the course, i.e. your lives reach 0. However, in True Dan, once your lives reach 0, you are not allowed to continue playing the song, and any other remaining songs in the course. You also get a special plate when you pass a course in True Dan, the plates do not get taken from your collection even after the version is changed, although the badge obtained will be reset.
nice video overall, you pretty much explained everything that most people need to know about i kind of forgot if you mentioned but for those who are confused about old songs and new songs in the rating system, new songs only includes songs released in the current version, other versions are all counts as old songs
things you've missed: • in festival+ the requirements to unlock the legend song becomes progressively lower, after some updates like right now latent kingdom needs u to have s5 and get an s rating on master but back then when latent kingdom first came out it needs to have sss1 and 100.9+ to get the song or just play with a legend to get the song • in 11th dan and higher, u get 50 lives and once it goes down to 0, the course is over but yeah nice guide vid doe
i think i should touch up on class battle! Conduction song(aka Legend songs) get released around the start of a new version, usually a few weeks in. the difficulty to unlock the song (without going through otomodachi battle tab) goes from SSS1 near AP, and SS5 at S. So the difficulty get lower as further down the version until the new version cones. you can only conduct/gift a conduction song after reaching legend rank(beating the SSS1 boss). the person who received it cant conduct to other people. Clearing SS5 unlock also wont let you conduct the song. What all of this mean is you can still play the song with other people, just that it doesnt give the other player the song unless you are legend rank. (fun fact tsunagite was a conduction song, but allowed recipients to gift to a maximum of 3 other players, and those same player gets to gift to another 3 player, and so on) if u are 2p-ing with another player, you can play their otomodachi battles too! exp. an A5 player doing SSS1 boss battle because the second player is SSS1. in the case that they do clear, they get point bonus from clearing higher ranks, but in this case they won’t be instantly legend rank.
more stuff for course mode(the real name is grade certification): -from first dan to tenth dan(一段 to 十段), there is no penalty for getting 0 life, you can continue playing the course but you are not going to receive the clear plus the dan badge. -from Shin first dan to ura kaiden (真物段 to 裏皆伝) your course ends after life reach 0 and your credit will be wasted😅. clearing these will give you the dan badge and a name plate. the name plate will be kept after version change, but not the dan badge like every dan course. Tenth dan(十段), and Shin Sixth dan(真六段) to Shin Kaiden(真皆伝) is changed every version, with the other courses stays mostly the same(most of the time)(they shuffle it up once in a while but i remember playing the same 7 dan course with fes and fes+)
Great video! 👍 This makes me wish I wasn’t forced to play a 6 year old version of the game that’s not online and also limited to 3 tracks so you can’t even complete a full course. 😔
If you know what your floor is, you can do some pretty quick mental math to figure out approximately how much a song would give you if you score SSS+. If you know your lowest song is say a SSS+ on a 13.0, and you SSS+ a 13.3, the difference in this case (0.3) can be used to figure out the rating gain. For every .1 is +2 rating, so in this case you'd gain approximately +6 rating. The math isn't perfect since the scalling isn't linear (in this case it should be +7) but it can be helpful in a pinch.
