I ran the dinner with Strahd pretty early on, Strahd invited the adventurers to dinner to "get to know my new guests of my land better", where he asked them about their backstory and told a bit about his life (lied about it obviously, but only 1 saw through the lies, while the other 2 rolled a 1), he framed himself as the hero and Sergei as a jealous brother who didn't want to see Tatyana and Strahd happy. Strahd then offered "a reward greater than any dragon's hoard" if they'd bring him Ireena. I plan on running another dinner later on when they go and kill him, a kind of "well, well, well. Haven't you been busy in my lands..." type dinner
Ok, did anyone else love the Strahdtegy pun? Also, really hoping the Dinner Video drops before I run that part, I whould also want to see what whould others do for the Festival of the Blazing Sun, I really wanna make it a fun event before Fiona/the Vampire Spawns strike.
Aw, I ran the dinner with Strahd for my players just yesterday. It's the first event in this campaign I run without the extra flavor from LBH! It went pretty well, though, they got to know their enemies, obtained a bit of useful info and also leaked a lot of secrets about themselves to the vampires :D
Very nice. I like the candle idea a lot. My old player from my last campaign liked our little forray into Barovia and wanted to go through it again with a new group. These videos will help make the next time I run this not only better, but new for my returning player, thank you.
My players got the Marionette card for Strahd’s location which is above the heart. So I’m having the body of one the player characters who was killed be controlled by the heart stings coming off the heart attack the players effectively like a puppet. I think that will be sorta clever and throwback like and will get the players blood pumping before the battle against Strahd.
This video was the first i remember you posted after I subscribed on your channel. My party was leaving the village on that time, and you helped me make a really complex campaing, now their are coming to the castle to the last confrontation. Thanks for all the help, i rly intend to make my players watch and like all your video's after I finish, so get RDY for some Brazilian trolls wandering around soon! PS.: Volenka is the last "living" bride, but I gonna have to beefy her a lot!
Tô my players, in a near future, Kassio, Adson, Raissa, Pitoco, Vinícius and Kfoury. Of Patrina is now siting in the throne of Barovia, you walked right into it!! 😆😆😆
Dat skeleton, trying to write with its dry ink well. I wonder what it would write if it had some ink? That could be an interesting way to get some information to the party, or provide some flavor to the story.
Location of the secret door. Or insight into the rich history of Ravenloft. Hell, it could be a fun way to reward your players with some XP if you're having trouble getting them to think about D&D as something other than roll stupid dice, hit stupid monsters. :D
I’ve been using the content & it’s gone so much smoother than previously ran. My party is enjoying the changes to the module. They have seen videos & podcasts. They are excited for the rest of the castle as am I. Great work! Keep it coming.
We played Curse of Strahd for the last year and we just killed Strahd, it was a blast man, lots of fun. My DM told us he got a lot of tips from you man.. thank you for the videos, your tips really brought several NPCs to life. You just got some new fans from Brazil, great job, thanks again
Thank you so much. I’m running Strahd right now and they are going to dinner with him tomorrow night! I used almost everything in the Amber Temple video too. You’ve been an immense help in prepping and providing a more interesting experience for my players and I!
I ran Gustav's possession like you suggested, and it was a bunch of fun for everyone. First attempt was a successful possession. The party "restrained" the revenant (which I allowed to remain in control of the player as long as he properly played the revenant), and whenever he tried to free himself one of the players bashed his brains in with the icon of Ravenloft which I allowed to still have it's damage against evil properties. We all laughed like mad
Commented this on your rvr’s tower vid but figured I’d reiterate here for you to see the pog in your ideas. I know I’m late but I implemented buster and it has got to be my favorite thing currently in the game I’ve been running. The distinction between Rudolph’s harsh and realistic worldview vs busters romantic idealism. I enjoyed him so much I suggested the bard put him in the animated suit of armor, and he did it! Buster is leaving the confines of the tower for adventure and love (ezmerelda). Thanks for the vids!
I'm not sure how a trapper boss fight can work for the heart of sorrow. Unless I'm missing something, can't the party just sling arrows and spells from the bottom of the stairs?
Hello, your videos are good but I have still some doubts. What about if the party attacks Strahd outside the castle? If they can lure him out, how would he behave?
Strahd is a strategist, and Barovia is his home. He will do everything in his power to make sure the place of battle favors him. And if the party somehow outsmarts and manipulates him into a disadvantageous position... they deserve their reward.
@@LunchBreakHeroes I mean, it's not that hard. The man has a reputation to defend; all you really need, is a bard putting up a show mocking him, and a house to wait him. If he's no show, they continue to mock him for his cowardice. Barovia populace cannot stop fearing Strahd. He couldn't stand and do nothing.
Gustav's spirit can't possess a party member if they are within 30 feet of the Icon of Ravenloft, as it has a Protection from Evil and Good aura. How would you tackle this?
