Out of all the times I've seen the Main Street Electrical Parade in Walt DisneyWorld from the very beginning, I think this was the best place I sat to see it. Filmed in June of 1999.
I was in this parade in 1979 and 1980 - I was one of the dancing mice in front of the Cinderella carriage. We were called "Rats" and I still think we were the cutest characters in the parade! Thank you for posting this!! It's great footage of the Rats!! I get choked up and teary-eyed remembering those summers, and my very last Electrical Parade in 1980.
I love it when everyone claps in the beginning too! I don't stop clapping! XD I want everyone to see that the same baseline runs through the whole parade, under all of the units.
That's true. I wish they bring it back. During the Christmas holidays, when the're not performing the Very Merry Christmas Parade of course. I loved it.
WOW! tears in my eyes too...Thank you so much...I hope someday someone at WDW will see fit to bring that back to the Magic Kingdom..where it belongs...
the sad thing is, the one chance I had to see this in person was in 1999, but i cant even remember it bcuz i was 7 and i feel really bad about it... but i get to go to Disneyland next year, and I have the life mission of seeing the parade that i shall fulfill! i hope they dont take it out b4 then :(
All the times I have seen the parade I wondered how they are able to see in the dark to drive the floats and how they can get so close to the public.I know that the turtle, snail, & bumble bee floats the drivers dont spin with the float. Its on a seperate mechanism.
Very true. Those didn't come until '85, as I understand it. This is one of the best videos of the parade I've seen, from WDW '99-'01. You even got the Electric Fanfare and opening announcement. Great job! Where exactly were you positioned mcrtnyfan?
I know! I noticed that too! Is it really THAT much more expensive to have four more people carry her train? Like, come on! That's like 12 or 16 court dancers in the Cinderella Unit. They JUST upgraded to 16 at California Adventure this year. It's inexplicable.
great job all around. too bad about the guy with the lightsaber, but what can you do. Since I've never been to DW, interesting to see the differences between the DL and DW versions. did you do the video to digital transfer yourself or send it out?
