Main Street Electrical Parade Returns for 50th Anniversary to Disneyland with New Finale Float 

I did like the ending float. It breathes some new life into the product. There were two things that made the ending feel a tad anti-climatic: One: There is a lack of actual people walking beside the behemoth float. Two: After the float leaves, at the end, the music doesn't appear to resolve back to the MSEP theme. I noticed it on a couple of other videos. It could just be on the ones I saw...Does anyone know if the song resolves or has an actual announcement finish to it?

@@themeparkcheetah Which is better than I expected. I actually expected less, like the way they did to the new intro of Dreamlights.

Exactly my thoughts.

I think that it maybe due to backstage for floats are already full with all of the shows, and they can only for now is to scrap and build floats and units.

The new float looks like it was built upon the "To Celebrate America" float. It has the same layout, etc, so more than likely the old patriotic one is long gone.

I know right! Prince John at that calliope was one of my faves. BTW I only recently found out it wasn't Prince John! It was a King from one of the old cartoons. I don't remember the name though.

@@jimlinde2753 Yea that's the one! I think Robin Hood was a more popular well known film than Bedknobs & Broomsticks. I'm betting alot of other people thought it was Prince John too LOL

Without the blue fairy starting the parade the dumbo circus floats Pinocchios pleasure island float with lampwick Esp the To honor America finale float floats missing from the parade makes me cry a little but always happy to see this marvelous parade last for over 50 years that’s a statement for all the joys it’s brought throughout its run

Because the original pitch was the OG from 72 and they had to do a new voice to say walts ceremonial greeting

@@andrewcb9255 Im making a joke about the stupid politics in Florida. So many people are commenting how upset they took out the American float and replaced it with a new float representing many cultures and disney movies.

Then again, how many floats have been removed over time. I remember the blue fairy and the circus floats for Dumbo.

I really hope they do, Disney world hasn’t had one for awhile also they probably removed it to me “more modern” or because nobody likes America anymore so it would be stupid to honor it like whatt

@@lavendeurss1438 I truly hope they do bring back a night time parade to the magic kingdom at Walt Disney World. I also think it's sad that in a parade that honors Walt with his opening day words of Disneyland also removes one of the things he loved most which is America from it.

No paint the night is bad and the electrical parade should rotate between Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom

I actually like Spectromagic. I wouldn't mind if they brought it back to WDW.

@@bonnafide2606 the Spectromagic floats were left out in the elements and were destroyed beyond repair. Alas, that parade is long gone.

@@ItzAdrian02 Thanks.. I grew up watching the Main Street Parade in either the late 70s or early 80s **I was too young to remember** at Disney World's Magic Kingdom so I was hoping to see it again. I remember these smaller lit up bugs or something that were part of the parade and that ran around very quickly.. I was scared of them. I'm now ready to face that fear :P

This parade started at WDW. Disneyland tried to give us Paint The Night but floats were too large to fit turns along route. I think Electrical Parade was sent from WDW to Japan. Florida wants it back!

@@sharonmatuszak6638 Huh? This parade had its debut performance at Disneyland in 1972. It didn’t go to WDW until 1977.

@@MegaSoulHero no but disneylands electrical parade had a full run from 72-96 and it doesn't make sense if it went to Disney world during that time. The parade had duplicates, just read the history on Wikipedia
