We enjoyed the buffet at Main Street station last year. Had the best made to order omelette ever! I loved the look of Main Street, next time I’ll pay more attention to the antique’s now that I know what to look for. Paula, enjoy your retirement❤
Love the history of both properties. The antiques and vintage decor in Main Street are so cool! We hope to take advantage of visiting more of these properties as well as downtown on our next visit to Vegas. Thank you for another informative video that solidifies our decision to do a deeper Downtown dive. ❤️
Fantastic video, Dale and Paula. Congratulations on your retirement, Paula I know you are extremely excited and I am so excited for you. Keep on having fun.
Congratulations on the retirement 😀 We hired a car from the Enterprise depo inside Main Street and we couldn't believe how nice the hotel was. The decor is beautiful and like you said it's spotless and very well maintained. It has such a nice atmosphere to it too. Thank you for the video, it was nice to see it again 😊 x
Congratulations on your retirement Paula, enjoy now you can do what you couldn’t do when working, have a great time love the videos you and Dale do a fantastic job. Love seeing all the different places.👍🏴
Retirement is here.....yeah, glad you went to Walt's original Park...lovely to see Main Street and the Cal again. The artefacts are amazing from all over the world, thanx for showing us and telling the history of each.
Best Wishes on your retirement Paula! Really like my stay at the Cal a couple of yrs ago and had a great flashback with that opening video of downtown. Can't wait to visit both properties again!
A few years ago, I spent an hour in Main St. Station just looking at the beautiful interior. You just have to take a little time out of your schedule to see it. It's really great eye candy.

Dale and Paula, OMG, you really outdid yourself this week! Main street station! Your detailed historical data on Artifacts, Chandeliers and stained Glass etc. is astounding and really interesting! And what a gorgeous property! And what memories! Back in the day when I was a broker, my lender and I used to go to the main street station for the best buffet in Las Vegas in my opinion! For $10, prime rib, and food from all over the world! We had an entertainment book, so with a two for one for five dollars a prime rib buffet! I’ll never forget it! Not to mention the incredible ambience that you so beautifully outlined! Thank you so much! CONGRATULATION ON YOUR RETIREMENT PAULA!
Congrats on your retirement Paula. Great filming too! Love your videos narrated by Dale's beautiful voice. Always a pleasure to watch! Keep them coming 🥰👏👏👏🍹💞💞💞
Dear Dale and Paula you allow us on great adventures to where I have never been. Main street is another must see. Main streets buffet I have been told is a true treasure for the affordable cost. Just love how your blending pf Paula's photography and Dale superb narrative. Such tallent both of you... I'm coming to Vegas for my birthday in early June. Russell in Tucson, Arizona
I always enjoy the show 👍😻, it’s more than just a video. Fremont is my favorite & Main Street has quick drink service and loose machines. The Hawaiians luv the Boyd’s properties. Follow the Hawaiians to the crap tables. I won 2100, when someone rolled 51 times at Fremont. That table was HOT! Luv the antiques & the tour. 🤠👍👍🍀
The best video on Main Street and California Hotel and Casino. We alternate staying on those two hotels. We like the ambience, the food and loose machines. Congrats on your retirement.
Love both of those places. Main Street Station used to have a couple of antique Pullman railroad cars out front. Pretty fancy dining car w kitchen and parlor/sleeper car as well. Think they were sold during the remodel. Don't know why. They were unique. Pawn Stars even had an episode featuring them when the owners decided to put them up for sale. On our last trip to Vegas Penny wasn't winning anything at her usual haunts on Fremont so I convinced her to walk over to the California Club. She sat down at a Keno machine and within 5 minutes got a $200 win on a quarter bet. She looked at me and said, "I like this place!". Not an hour later we were sitting back- to- back playing Keno and I heard that voice say: "Oh My God!". Her machine was flashing as she had just won $3750 on a 2 quarter bet! Biggest jackpot she ever won in Vegas. Absolutely wonderful memory that I'll never forget. You need to try the place, Dale. Has more Keno machines than any of the casinos on Fremont. Upstairs and downstairs.
Back in the 60s, my uncle Earl would visit and take a huge case of Coors back to Minnesota. We lived in Greeley Colorado. Also, when my brother was living in north Las Vegas back in the late 80s, he took us to the Main Syreet Buffet. That was the best buffet we ate at and my brother took us to several. Thanks for the memories.
Prior to 2010, I had only ever been in Las Vegas twice in my entire life. Starting in 2010, I started visiting Vegas once every few months, and the frequency of my visits progressively increased from there, until I eventually purchased my vacation home in 2014. When I first started visiting Vegas, I used to always make a point of going to Fremont Street at least once per trip. Back then, parking was free at Main Street Station (as well as at some other places), and I always parked there. The buffet at Main Street Station is the only buffet I have ever eaten at Downtown. (I ate there once.) The funny thing is that, whenever I mention Main Street Station to people who are new in Vegas, I always mention two things that they should look out for: the piece of the Berlin Wall in the men's room and Winston Churchill's snooker table. As you were going through the list of interesting historical items at Main Street Station in your video, I was eagerly awaiting for you to mention those two specific things. You definitely mentioned the Berlin Wall, but unless I wasn't paying attention (I was watching TV at the same time as I was watching your video), you didn't talk about the Churchill's snooker table at all. I found that amusing. As the years have gone by, free parking Downtown has gone away, and the clientele in the area has become more "rough" compared to the way it was a decade ago. As a result, I hardly ever find myself on Fremont Street anymore. It's a little sad that I don't really experience that part of Vegas these days, but I much prefer the grandeur, slightly better behaved people, and free access to parking over on the Strip.
Greetings Dale and Paula . The Victorian architecture and furnishings look beautiful. Definitely a different vibe then the strip hotels . Paula …hope you enjoyed your trip to Disneyland . The Disney park prices are getting so expensive hopefully you don’t have to cut your retirement short lol …just kidding . Great work as always 😎😎😎
Really enjoyed this downtown visit. Main Street is so very pretty and all the antiques and history is fascinating. I could spend time searching for each one. I wish you had shown a little of the Fremont, but great vlog as always. Have a lovely week and I'll see you later.
CONGRATULATIONS PAULA ON YOUR RETIREMENT. THE CALIFORNIA HOTEL IS WHERE MY HUSBAND AND I STAY EVERYTIME WE ARE IN VEGAS. LOVE THESE PLACES. THANKS FOR THE REVIEW.
My favorite place downtown, Main Street Station!, it's beautiful! . and my two favorite destinations, Las Vegas and Disneyland! , Thank you very much Dale and Paula, great video as usual, great stuff!
Congrats again on retirement Paula! Main Street Station is definitely one of those slowly bygone free things in Vegas. Don’t necessarily have to gamble here, but definitely would be a fun way to spend a hot afternoon looking at the antiques and taking the tour.
Hi Paula and Dale! I love Main Street Station and have been there many times. I love the history and the gorgeous antiques. The California is nice too. That was a fun video! Hugs!
Congrats on your retirement.🍷🎈. What a neat video about these 2 iconic casinos and so many interesting facts!! Thanks for sharing all this information with us.❤️
Great Video as always, I really appreciate how you both research and do your Homework about every place you go , I always Love Learning about the history and facts about Las Vegas very Fascinating. Have a Blessed day much Love to you both Joy 💕
❤ this on my upcoming Downtown stay to do list, step by step . Excellent job! Thanks for mapping out all the fascinating details to look for. 🥰 u guys.
Two Big Thumbs Up for the video!!!👍👍. We always stayed downtown and go to these hotels!! Very nice places to play and visit!!! Thank You for sharing!!!!
Dale's descriptive casino tours are enjoyable and very informative. Keep u the great work. My wife and I had a good run of luck at the Cal the last time we were in Vegas.
Nice! Thank you. I remember staying there when it was the Holiday Inn, pre Park! Was really miffed because the drinking/gambling are was 21. At the time it was 18 in NJ and I was 20. Eventually convinced security I was 22 and played nickel slots. With actual nickels. Walked to the Plaza which was featuring a show with Ginger Rodgers. Wow things have changed.
I love going to this area at least once doing our stay, We have stayed at the Fremont. My brother worked for the Boyd Co. for 17 years , first The Stardust then it closed than he worked at the California, than the Fremont till 2020 then retired. The Main Street buffet is a good one. Thanks Dale and Paula for my Sunday fix with you two! Congrats again Paula on your retirement, enjoy!
Thanks again Paula and Dale...another great video. Main Street Station and the California are must visits for me and my friends. Another cool item in Main Street Station is Winston Churchill's snooker table upstairs and a cool hidden elevator to it.
You guys knocked it out of the park with this one, what an awesome vlog. Makes me want to book a room there right away. Oh and Paula, congratulations on your retirement!
Excellent video. Definitely makes me want to visit both places next time I’m in Vegas. I’m also impressed with the time you spend to credit all the photos and clips in the Description section. 👍
Looks like a couple of cool places to check out. I love anything that conjures old Las Vegas and it all looks facinating historically. Thanks! Nice vlog!
Enjoying the drive! Main Street was closed for so long, I almost forgot it was there. I agree when we did visit, we had to check out that Bird's Eye view. It is a great view, but my favorite is at the top of the escalators looking down at New York New York's Casino Floor. Main Street is definitely vintage beautiful. Wow, that is cool that the furniture in the lobby is from the old train station. The Chandeliers are from the San Francisco opera house! You guys do your research! Wow, doors from the Kuwait Royal Bank in London. So very cool. The stained glass, the chandeliers, the doors and everything in Main Street station is just amazing. Tina and I have decided to stay at El Cortez on our next trip, and really take time to explore all the casinos in Fremont. Yum, Lappert's ice cream looks awesome. California Casino is very unique. Tina and I have played at Belterra Park in Cincinnati, and we loved it. We will get the brochure and take the tour when we get down there next.
I tell you what, you guys make a very comfortable, enjoyable videos. I’m surprised that a hotel/casino have not picked you up to do welcome videos that you could watch on the room tv to introduce customers to their hotels. I know if I owned a hotel/ casino, I’d look you up😄
Happy belated Retirement Paula! 🎉❤ Hubby and I have a trip planned in May, I’m definitely going to spend a day downtown exploring. Great video! ❤ from Canada 🇨🇦
The art and decor at Main Street are fabulous. This alone is a reason to stop by. Well done presentation. I thoroughly enjoyed the rich visual stepping into the past. Many of us share your interest in history. So many things you do well put your videos on top of all the others.
