Storm of Zehir had some seriously amazing music. Don't care if the game wasn't that good (though I enjoyed it, just wasn't amazing), the music is epic.
To me this song evokes a sense of a serene fortitude, a constant and indomitable light. This theme, for me, is in fact heightened by the contrast of the grim image in the background
Have to agree with others that 0:47-1:42 is my favourite part. Just very atmospheric and melodic. I only played MOTB so in my mind this theme is for that game rather than SoZ :).
Speaking about great music on games, this one comes always to my mind after many years. Just played shadow warrior 2 which have great menu music and yet again i was reminiscing this one and leaving this comment.
When I first installed this exp. pack and looked at the cover I thought the theme would be all gloomy and dark, but this theme makes me so happy for some reason :')
i NEED to complete this game: completed NW2 long ago but never the expansions, did get far but my pc had a virus. anyways: almost a nostalgic feeling when i hear this theme
Love this theme! Also love this expansion too since it allow you to create your own team to adventure. It's a lot of fun when you tired some interesting combination like Hafling weapon master or Orc bard. xD
This theme is awesome, makes starting the game up an adventure :D Also, it reminds me of BG2's theme in a way.... the first part is epic music and the second gives you a sense of mystery and wonder.
And suddenly I found out that many of my favorite video game scores were composed by the same man: Paul Anthony Romero. I'm going to check out his other work.
Ok so I cracked that game to have a look at it in August 2016. It's a great game! Haven't finished it yet but honestly I dont know why people think the main theme is obnoxious. I think it's just because I've known this theme only that I love it.
From the second I've first heard the theme, I knew I sensed something familiar. And decided to check out, who the composer was. For an old MM nut like me... That was something.
The previous 2 themes of NWN2 were good; this one's even better. Refreshing, somehow. So this is already out... I should get right away for the gameplay improvements, even if I'm still playing thru the original NWN2 plot.
0:48 I found myself humming this theme a few minutes ago after playing this game months ago. I have no idea where it came from but it's SO good and so epic. Too bad Storm of Zehir itself was a bit of a disappointment. MotB was incredible though, like a really goo fantasy book.
What a beautiful theme :) Just a shame this game doesn't live up to the original NWN 2 or mask of the betrayer. I'm sorry to say the NWN series started to go down hill after mask of the betrayer which really is a shame as this theme is probably the greatest main theme of the lot :(
As far as I know, Gold only has the Original and Mask of the Betrayer. There'll likely be a Platinum release in the future with all three. Maybe even a Diamond release, like the original NWN had.
I think most of the game play improvements are available in a patch even with basic NWN, Classes, new spells, feats ect however won't be. I know when I got NWN Classic when it came out it didn't have a lot of the stuff it had when I patched and played recently. If your going from NWN1 to NWN2 I suggest the Character Camera View, I found the other one frustrating bc everything is inverted compared to NWN1
Altough the plot of Soz wasn't as epic as MotB, the overland map is an interesting additiong to the gameplay. If they can just sort out the bugs in the trading system and random encounters in time for NWN 3, it should be a big hit.
there are pointers that nwn 1 and bg 2 lacks and that is proper dialogues and storylines. indeed those 2 has better questlines and story grander than the nwn 2 but note that nwn2 has at least better drama in a sense that you can really see the emotions still great games
@Nightshade715 Absolutely not. Either play the original NWN2 (a cliche infested game done right) or Mask of the Betrayer expansion (one of the greatest story and story telling experience)
SoZ was probably the best NWN in terms of combat but really, after the great story of MotB (and according to some, the cliched but fun NWN2) its a disappointment. Awesome theme though, best of the series.
Storm of Zehir could have been a even better game, they screwd up many aspects of the game. The story was too weak, and the world exploration lacked dinamic. But overall I liked it. Stil, I'd rather dive into a D&D book.
