I just wanted to clarify some things in this comment. I usually try to film the birthing process if it's possible, but my number one priority is always to focus on the mother cat. I set up the camera and leave it there. When Luna is calm and in between the births, I can take some time to film from more angles. I think it's very interesting to rewatch the video of the birth and it makes it easy for me to remember what happened and how it went. Hopefully, I can learn something from it until next time. I always debate with myself whether I should release the birth video here on RU-vid or not. But I decided to do it this time. This video is definitely not for everyone, but some of you might find it interesting and fascinating. Maybe you can learn something from it too. Thanks for reading and I hope you feel that it's okay that I released the video. Luna and the kittens are looking very happy and healthy. More videos with them are coming soon 🙂
Thank you so much for posting the video. It was very interesting to see. I must admit I would be somewhat overwhelmed and full of fear that anything might go wrong. We loved your little help by holding Luna‘s leg and offering her support during the pressing ❤. Can’t wait to see more of these three little souls and Mama Luna and Papa Dexter. Ha! He has a new title now 😅
Birth is natural, and it was very special to see the kittens come into this world! Congratulations Luna and Dexter- and Human Dad, you are an amazing cat parent!💖😻🇨🇦
So wonderful and emotional to see these newbies coming into their new world. I’m so glad you shared this special moment with us, I thank you kindly. You obviously know what you’re doing, and has works for many years. Luna and family are very fortunate to have you there for comfort and support.
Glad you released this video. Luna did a great job. She's such a good momma. Glad all the kittens were ok and that the kittens and momma are all doing well. Can't wait to hear their genders and names. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you posted this. It has been decades since I last watched a cat birthing her kittens. I grew up in a semi-rural area and cats were not the only animals we saw give birth. When I asked if we shouldn't help in some way I was told " nature will work on its own course." It is after all, a natural process. I guess a little cat daddy help doesn't hurt though. She apparently trusted you and did not appear to be upset by your helping. Good work Luna and " Cat Dad." I'm sure it's a bit stressful for YOU also. Especially since you said you did not know how many kittens to expect. I'm surprised you didn't have an ultrasound from a pre-birth Vet visit. Looking forward to see this new litter grow, learn, & play. Kittens are so much fun!
What a sweet video. I'm glad you released it, so we could all really appreciate what a wonderful mama Luna is. She did a great job & you did a pretty good job of "midwife" too :) Did you know how many kittens Luna was going to have, or was that a surprise? I hope Luna & the babies are doing well today. We are all looking forward to more videos & learning their names ❤
The mother was already stressed out enough as is without you getting involved. It was disturbing to see you pulling at her leg as she clearly protested and cried out because she didn't want you touching her. Unless she was struggling and needed help (which she clearly didn't), please leave her alone and give her some privacy.
She obviously did not want to be touched. It made me uncomfortable to hear her growl and someone giggling in the background at the situation. She isn't a toy, she's giving birth. Please let nature do it's thing.
@@caseybaker556 Like I have explained in other comments, she gets calmer when I'm close and she likes when I pet her. No one is giggling. It is painful to give birth and she growls if I don't touch her too.
@Maine_Coon_Kittens I have not "misinterpreted" anything. We breed Ragdolls in my house, and I am also a former Veterinary technician. I am well aware of cat behaviour and have seen many births and worked with cats for years. I know when a cat is in distress through experience, knowledge and jist plain commen sense. You obviously do not. She did not want to be touched by her obvious vocal protests. There is nothing wrong with your presence, but to touch her and pulling at her leg while she is already under a lot of stress is wrong. You obviously lack experience and knowledge. Educate yourself and do better.
I know you don't want to hear this but you should retire Luna. Birthing is difficult for her. A birth should be like Freyas quick with little fuss and she gave you a good range of colors.
You shouldn't film births or interact with the mother when she is birthing, unless she is the one calling you to her. All mammals need privacy to birth, observing them and interfering hinders the process by messing with the hormonal surges and brainwave lengths.
There are lots of things that can go wrong, so of course I need to watch. She gets calmer when I'm close and she likes when I pet her, so I don't see the problem.
@@Maine_Coon_KittensThats right every animal differs, and I know there is a very strong relationship so making blanket statements about what your doing to support Luna is irresponsible and acting like a vet. Well done on the births Mr. Maine Kittens.❤
💖 Hard work for all mammals, such a birth. But Luna did a good job! Fortunately, she had good support from your expert hands. Warm greetings to the newborns and their rightly proud mom from Germany. 🥰🥰
Ein schwarzes Fellknäuel ist aber dabei, die beiden anderen sind ein Mix der Eltern ❤ Kann kaum erwarten, sie wachsen zu sehen und sie beim Spielen zu beobachten❤❤❤
Luna was strong and powerful when she was pushing. But she also have the best midwife by her side. 🤩 Congratulations! Thank you for sharing this special moment with us
Luna is such a wonderful mom...i am so looking forward to see the kittens growing up!!..Dad, this video was so thoughtfully put together..it shows your care, love, and insure the safety of Luna and her kittens..🥰🥰🥰
This was absolutely beautiful. Please don't hesitate about posting a completely natural event for all of us not fortunate enough to experience it for ourselves. It would be nice if you could caption the elapsed time, to show how long the entire birth process actually takes.
Brava Luna! You are a very brave girl who went into mamma mode without a hitch. Did the boys have any idea about what was taking place? All I could picture was Dexter pacing back and forth [as in the old movies] with Buster looking very confused. 😸😻
congratulations upon your addition to your home, they are so cute. cannot wait for the videos of the kittens! Luna was such a great mom to the little ones! good luck with your new additions.
Congratulations. Luna is such a good mom. I thought that you would mate Dexter with Freya. Well, both Luna and Freya are good mom. I am so happy for you.
It was very moving to see this miracle of birth (which happens all the time...but it's still a miracle...) I have only one question: when will you spay Luna? She must be exhausted...
I will either do it after the kittens have moved, or wait and consider a fourth and final litter for her. But she will get a long break if I decide for that. She is a fantastic mother and she is her best self when she has kittens 🙂
I'm sure Luna is a great mother and if another litter means another Ash - then how can I resist... But I worry about uterus rupture etc... as she had so many births...
Meine Katze hst so lange gewartet bis ich nach hause kam und mich zu ihr gesetzt habe. Aber ich habe sie nicht gestört Was ist das für eine Missachtung. Pfui
