I saw mountain lion near Sheepscot Lake Palermo Maine 18 to 20 years ago. It was sitting in a tree as I was talking a walk on dirt road. Never thought much about it as others mentioned seeing it too. I think there were small dogs, domestic cats and a farm down the road with chickens so it seemed plausible.
There are Bobcats and Lynx's also, now the diffrence between the the 3, is that a Mountain Lion could be almost a 100lbs bigger! Lynx's are dicks, they like to hide in trees, and sometimes they jump off and bite the back of someone's neck and kill them, basically just cause... Lynx's have short tails and big ears! I've seen a Mountain Lion in NH on the Mass Border, easily a 100lbs, and I've seen the other cats, and a 100+lbs Mountain Lion is a Beast Compared to a 40lbs Bobcat or Lynx...
I talked to this Guy once, he was slightly annoyed by me, talking the talking, but not walking the walk, like you know this much, jump in there, and he told me if I could make a very serious video on an extreme adventure basically and let him know I was up to the task, he would fund me and such, but he didn't think I could follow through, and that was true, I couldn't get anyone on board, because everyone I knew turned into a loser, and I guess making me one too by proxy! Only thing we truly 100% agreed on was the Mountain Lions, and I didn't see eye to eye with him and Al Gore about Man-Bear-Pig!
