Subhaan Allah what a divine poetry ! As if it was written sitting by next to God residing in heavens 🙏 Metaphors and description is far beyond this world 🌎 🙏 and qawal hazraat performed it well within parameters and rhythm.
Disclaimer: Suspicious Tune ( Music Composition). The tune is same as used in the 1980 Bollywood movie, starring the all time favourite and hit " Raj Kapoor", music was given by R D Burman and lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi. The song was " Mein ny poocha chand sy k daikha hy kahin'. Although in 1980s, Nusrat Fateh Ali khan was leading his qawwal party and performing nationally and internationally. Now, it's difficult to decide who copied the tune? Before that Khan sb qawwal party has used two different Bollywood tunes. One used in live performance on harmonium by Farrukh Fateh Ali khan - The harmonium maestro ( Younger brother of Nusrat Fateh Ali khan and Father of Rahat Fateh Ali khan) , as a rejuvenating item before the concert starts with heavenly voice of Nusrat. The tune he played sensationally was the hit Bollywood song " meray naseeb mn tu hy k nahi, teray naseeb mn mein hoon nahi" by One and only Lata Mangeshkar. Another musical plagiarism by the qawwal party is using the tune " tera mera pyaar amar hy " sung by Lata, composed by Shankar Jaikshan. The item sung by Nusrat was " Mushkil Taalo Shah e Umam, kar do Aaqa Nazr e kram ". Last but not the least is this suspicious item that compelled me to write is " mn ny poocha husn sy k daikha hy kahin". If you have any insights and opinions that might help better understand and appreciate the music, especially Nusrat Sb, then please share.
Yes Ustad Farrukh played mere naseeb me tu he ke nai on his concert. But Thats not true brother. Ustad Nusrat saab never stolen others music. Mene pochaa husn se were sung by ustad nusrat saab in 1978 and was available in audio only. He performed this qawalli on a local Darbar Shareef.
Ustad NFAK had his own sea of knowledge of music so he had no need to steel music from others. You are the first one i came to know from that NFAK night have stolen others tune/ music. Bye
