you have to laugh when the color guy says Montgomery is the Maine MVP. All three of his goals cam from great plays by Kariya. Kariya scored 100 points for Maine that year, and almost never shot the puck because he didn't want to be called selfish. Montgomery was a good player, but that team began and ended with Kariya. Also, poor Cal Ingraham, if he had been three inches taller and thirty pounds heavier he could have been a good NHLer.
If Cal had been born late enough in the modern era, he would have been a high draft pick... But back then, the NHL was still a moron league. Shit, Martin St. Louis went undrafted back then, too, for Christ's sake!
Frustrating game for the Lakers, Sean Tallaire scored the game tying goal, but officials thought it hit the crossbar. Could easily have changed the outcome of the game.
Take a look at 24:35. The puck clearly disappears for a moment before it comes out. Oh well, can't win them all... Oh wait, they did win in '92 and '94. With video review this game would have been different.
