Luv when cats do that! What they're really doing is trying to mimic the sounds birds make to each other so as to bring the birds closer so the cats. It's instinct.
I've often wondered just what survival-improving benefit this behavior (as all instinctive traits) bestows on cats. I don't know if "bring the birds closer" is it, though, because birds are largely deaf to the sounds of different bird species and the cat's chirping doesn't resemble the bird's song at all. Perhaps it's just a natural reaction to the cat's hormonal rush when they see a potential avian prey (they do the same with any flying thing such as a fly.) In any case, it's a charming trait and this kitty is adorable!
What a gorgeous boy, he's amazing! I have a 'Mini' Maine Coon who was the runt of the litter and so didn't grow much bigger than a yearling, and also a Tuxedo Ragdoll. I love it when they chitter to the birds, it's one of the cutest things ever.
@@_baggyboy My Mini Maine Coon is Mr. Midnight, and my Tux Ragdoll is Mr. Luna. I swear these guys KNOW when I"m trying to take a picture of them because I have such a hard time getting a good pic of them.
@@thoughtfulmoron3371 that’s too funny, Baggs (his name) does it too when he sees a reflection of light on the ceiling or at his laser toy 😂, sometimes i think he has max 5 brain cells
Nobody knows that for a fact. There are a number of theories and none of them have been proven. Yours makes the least sense. Do you think a bird is gonna fly down a cat’s throat just because it sounds like his mama?
@@_baggyboy so sweet.....i have also a maine coon boy also a black smoke....he looks like yours ,6 months now..... the videos you made are so real....you can really feel that you love your cat.....nice
I sincerely hope that the cat lives a happy life where he gets to roam and play as he should, outside. It's animal abuse to keep a cat indoors, and only crazy cat ladies do it. Stop it. If you can't give an animal a near optimal life, don't get an animal.
