Mainframe Modernization refers to adapting something to modern needs or habits. To be more precise, Mainframe modernization involves upgrading an organization's IT landscape in order to meet market demands. On the other hand, digital transformation refers to the adoption and use of enhanced features and digital technologies to deliver value. Furthermore, digital transformation involves fundamentally changing the way people and processes work to increase efficiency and competitiveness. In general, there are four different mainframe modernization strategies Encapsulating, Refactoring, Rebuilding and Rehosting. Businesses can use these strategies to migrate mainframe applications (legacy applications) to the cloud.
