I recently watched, or rewatched, a video from two years ago and I have to say that it's wonderfully impressive how far the Beastie Room has come. Just super.

I think you're right about the temperatures some spiders like the sand spider needs to be 30 degrees or above to breed have eggs

I always look forward to Monday and Thursday to watch your video's. I'm still scared of spiders but because of your video's I'm more fascinated than scared

I grew up terrified to even look at a spider but now have followed you for about a year and learned so much from your commentary and videos. Both are excellent 🙌🏼 Question: looking at the molt in this video, you noted it was a male. What do you look for that enables you to decide so quickly?

Quite the variety we see here today ! I had NO idea you had a B. smithi or several A. seemanni ! Very cool to see these ! While these (seemanni esp) will benefit from being bred to lower the pressure on WC collecting (Why do they still do it in this day and age ?!), no spider needs it more (IMO) than the G. rosea. I know they're not a favorite of yours, but ever since Chile stopped exporting them, they're becoming more and more scarce. Oddly enough, you'd remember decades ago they were literally everywhere, but we see very little of them nowadays. We really took the species for granted and hardly anybody bothered to breed them, but recently people are trying to get them again and they're becoming hard to find and expensive. Sorry for the "rant", but I had to get it out. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)

Just came home from work and my sub-adult Amazonius Germani (Pseudochlamoris Gigas) has passed. Not sure if it was impaction or something else. Pretty bummed about it.

we're running into the same problem as A seemani with the wild caught Haplopelma vonwirthi. luckily I scored a male and my female is on a sac!

Wot an educational vidoe , maintenance is key when looking after t's and ya labelling system tells u wot is needed hope ya day is going well Dave & Camera lady

We used to use electrical tape in our breeding rooms because it comes in standard colours, white, yellow, green, yellow/green stripe, blue, red, black and doesn’t leave sticky on the cages and they also last for ages as little restickable tags. Yellow/green stripe used to mean ‘pregnant’, green was a litter in cage, red was ‘due to wean’ and other things. I can. only imagine a system like that would make you crazy in your spider room though cause it does look a little messy and your room looks so nice and tidy.

Always enjoy these walkabouts. It would be interesting to see if a higher temp/humidity vs lower would produce more males in an egg sac or vice versa. Wonder if that would make any difference at all...

Wait, am I out of the loop here or did anyone else happen to catch the mention of a second room lol? Is a Disney like spin off in the works called Dave's Little Beauties 😂 ? Looks like you beat me to producing rufilata this past year, but I had Sabah Blue drop first lol. Best of luck with her, they're by far one of my favorite species to work with.

Brilliant video as always, Dave (and camera-lady). I didn't realise (a) how big the room actually was - as you're usually just in one place, and (b) that you have another spider-room, too ! No wonder it takes you so long to go through them all.

It's been a while since I stopped by, the collection has GROWN! I envy you Dave, your such a good care giver.

I am watching this vidoe even though I do not keep spiders. I just love the channel Dave is so knowledgeable and is gentle and loves his spiders. So I watch like and comment as many as I can to help Dave and Camera lady with the algorythmns.

Dave, you are so interesting to listen to. I have learned so much about tarantulas and have gained respect for them. Fascinating creatures.

As an ongoing breeder that pulled his first eggsac some days ago i am again stunned by your tarantularoom. Its just perfect. All the beautiful enclosures with real stunners inside. Your channels helped me a lot in improving my hobby. Just for an example your nursery pots are working great and i dont know anybody here around doing it this way, but its the best way. Even if i have always been able to handle my Ts the beasty way because i love them and never get nervous arround them, there is still no way for me to reach your master level in enclosure builds and breeding knowledge. My room also is just half the size of yours so i have to be selective when it comes to breeding projects.

Dave I have always wondered, do you have employees that help you or is it just you and camera lady?

Lovely, relaxing walk about the place - Thank you and Camera Lady for your time and information. I do have a question tho - With mammals it is important to give their bodies adequate time between litters to maintain the mother's overall health. For example, while a cat can have three litters a year no responsible breeder would intentionally do that to an animal. Dogs, horses, etc, back to back breeding is likewise recognized as a bad thing. Is there a similar interval for tarantulas? Or is their biology simple enough that once they are back to a healthy weight it is not detrimental to their underlying health for them to start developing more eggs? Thanks again, I learn so much from your channel - just wish I were on the right side of the pond to get signs from you!

Fungus gnats are a real pain. I have had a big outbreak in my shed. They love humid enclosures and live plants unfortunately. I am debating if I am going to swap out for all plastic plants.

Dave I find you so interesting to listen to. I don’t keep spiders anymore as gone back to my reptiles, but it’s so nice to come back on the odd occasions and have a catch up on what your doing. Great video mate.

Hi Dave. First time poster here and soon to be first time tarantula keeper. I have a possibly dumb question - is there a reason not to use compost from your own compost bin in the garden and use compost from the garden centre instead? You look like a composting man to me, so I was wondering why you would go for shop stuff if you had the option? Also, I'm concerned about temperature in the winter for my Pulchra. Would you recommend a heat lamp, or are they hardy enough for South Wales winter? Thanks. You're channel is outstanding btw! John.
