I started with a 5 gallon with fish but then I moved up to two 20 gallon tanks. Keeping fish and a turtle. It was so much work, and I think I burned myself out. Especially, being a student in college. But I am thinking about getting a 5 gallon tank with one fish and maybe some snail, because I really miss the joy of fish keeping.
@@iisadsloth9727 Bettas don't get stressed in big tanks. They get stressed in open spaces. I kept a betta in a heavily planted 40g breeder community with no problem. As long as the tank is around 3/5 covered with plants, I doubt your betta would get stressed or fin nip
I’ve been told that lucky bamboo will rot if submerged in too much water so it’s nice to know that I can work!! Very inspirational video. Now off to add mine to my guppy tank! 😊
Love the concept and the look. Just wanted to point out that I observed A LOT of hydra growing on your glass and plants... and hydra will actively kill shrimp. Might wanna get that treated!
at first i was like... Huh!? How could you see those things!? But then, i skimmed through, and sure enough... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-86jiAfdvnXk.html
Suggestion add your dechlorinator before you add new water to prevent chlorine from damaging your nitrogen cycle beneficial bacteria. I'd also do more frequent water changes for smaller amounts. Every two weeks for 20% - 25%.
@@Gmte not really… my neritina have the habit of getting out and going for a walk around the house. The aquarium is well established and only has plants, shrimp and neritina snails.
Your videos are so great and the amount of work you put into them and also your tanks I enjoy watching your work. This is truly peaceful I don't want to seem like a leech but how did you get so many shrimps?
Hey recently subscribed to your channel because I like your aquariums. But nowhere have I noticed information about fertilization only about water changes once a month. How do you keep your plants in good condition?
@9:04 Mr Beta be going: "Hey! where did my detritus go?!!!" "I was saving that detritus for later!!!" "Put my detritus back!!" "Respect mah authoritah!!"
Doesn't look like CO2 or any plant supplements are being used as well as tap water and Prime. I'm amazed at how well the plants are growing. I have plants in my 28 gal bow front but I've never been able to grow anything large, only ground or small plants have grown so far. I can't even get a Sword to stay alive for very long. I use RO water, keep the ph as close to 7.0 as possible, my water parameters are all good except my kH is always off the charts and I have no clue why. I run a small hang on tank canister filter that uses a sleeve and carbon & added a Seachem Tidal filter so that I could use additional filter media (Purigen, sponge, more carbon & Matrix). I do at least 10-12 gal water changes usually once a month and add Seachem supplements for the fish as well as Flourish, Flourish Trace, Excel and Advantage (all Seachem). Oh, and I my substrate is from Caribsea and formulated for planted aquariums. I have 2 Denison Barbs (too big for the tank now but will go into the 75 gal eventually), 2 long finned red minor tetras, one long finned Rosy Barb, 2 cory cats, one albino algae eater and a snail. I've had aquariums for at least 35 years so I'm no dummy, but when it comes to the technical stuff, I don't understand it. My point is, I have no idea why I don't have success with most plants. Eventually, once I move, I have a brand new 75 gal tank and stand sitting in storage that I can't wait to set up. I also invested in CO2 equipment that I'm hoping will give me more success. Any suggestions for growing the plants or what I might be doing wrong?
Nerite can escape even a proper lidded tank. I had one playing musical tank for me the past couple months he liked the coolest tank best and finally stopped escapeing.
Love the bamboo in this scape. Beautiful and great idea for my next scape. Question. How do you keep your betta from nibbling on your shrimp? I cant keep shrimp with my bettas.
It depends on your cat. Mine used to nap on my kid and ignore the fish so when I removed the cover my cat was sad and the fish (guppies) missed nipping at her tail.
Aquatic paradise! Awesome 👏🏻. I also noticed yr monstera plant. Lovely ! Care I share care tips pls. Mine’s doesn’t seem to be growing healthy. Tks in advance!
Amazing tank I am new to hobby but doing good I was wondering how do you manage the lights for such heavily planted tank..... Also you did water change after a month that too 40% so doesn't algae grow all over ??
Hello Regis.....a beautiful setup as well as maintenance video.... But I would like to query the following - what is the nutrient you are using for those plants? I saw Seachem Prime but is that all? what about Co2? any liquid dosing you're using? Even during the setup video you didn't use root tabs, so from where exactly are the plants getting nutrients? hope you'll answer and it'll really clear a lot of queries for a newbie like me!!
hi i love this video..do you injecting co2 into this tank?i'm curious..i didn't see co2 diffuser in this tank, but your plants looks in good condition..how is it possible?
