Bought Maison Margiela From the Garden a couple of months ago because it reminded me of Sisley's Eau de Campagne which I have had since 2005, wow.. for almost 20 years :) I LOVE Diptyque's L'Ombre Dans and prefer L'Ombre Dans L'eau to MM. Probably, because I prefer that very nice back currant leaf note to tomato leaf note.. Also, the geranium note and green patchuli from MM From the Garden, L'Ombre Dans and Sisley's Eau de Champagne makes me think of the greenest patchuli ever - Patricia de Nicolai's Patchuli Intense. Patricia Nicolai is the keeper of french tradition in perfumery and what classy perfumes she makes. Great video, Sebastian.
I love green scents so this is very appealing to me. I have tried Italian Leather Memo Paris but nothing else. Must try. Thanks Sebastian for the great review.
The video I was waiting for! 🍅🌿 Thank you Sebastian! Really wish What About Adam would make a comeback, but I'll have to try Dandelion Fig and L'ima. 💚 Planting season is finally upon us here up north.
I can’t believe the perfect capture of tomato vine that L’Ombre dans L’Eau is could possibly be beat. It is so accurate and transcendent. Love it so much!
I got it from sephora 15 ml, I liked it only for 15-30 minutes ( it was exactly that tomato leaves note) after drying down, it smells like a very cheap air freshener on me. I own Diptyque L'Ombre dans L'Eau and I am in love with this parfume frome first notes to the dry down
Got the travel spray bc it wasn't in stores and was intrigued. I like it and have been saving it for warmer days. It is light, but considering the notes, it works for me. I added Prada's Infusion de Gingembre and that definitely added some depth to it. So happy that you reviewed this and similar fragrances.
How exciting, I love the idea of tomato leaf in fragrance! Thanks for the reminder about the Sisley one, too :) definitely inspired to track these down.
Love tomato leaf - quite evocative of my own childhood when we picked tomatoes and canned them. Replica is my favorite because it does go green but perfumey still.
I really like this one. Tried it when I was visiting Singapore earlier this month and I think it is quite unique, fresh, and pleasant. Would love to get a bottle of it someday. But yeah, the performance is underwhelming.
I've got a 10ml decant of Memo Italian Leather that Im test wearing, and so far Im not totally enamored with the tomato leaf and leather combo. Maybe Ill learn to like it more as I wear it. Ive test worn MMM Replica From the Garden and like it enough to put it on my full bottle to-buy list. Ive had a bottle of Le Jardin Sur Le Nil for a long time now and have learned to love it. It has tomato to my nose. Not sure if its more the leaf or fruit itself. Coincidentally, with my Memo Italian Leather decant I received a sample of Iris Malikhan. Sprayed Iris Malikhan on paper and didn't get a comparison to Italian Leather, just another makeupy powdery iris. But haven't worn it yet.
I really enjoy the tomato/ tomato leaf fragrance. It also reminds me of my mom’s garden and I’m actually growing tomatoes right now! I agree with you in regards to the lightness of the fragrance. Great video!
I love the tomato leaf note. Eau de Campagne is my favourite, but Chef's Table by MiN New York is a close second. Super realistic tomato leaf with basil and sage. Nobody talks about it, but it's fantastic
I was looking for tomato leaf fragrances a year or two ago in spring when I had the smell of the actual leaves on my hands. I can’t help but be joyful when I smell the leaves. The closest thing at the time I could find was Moss by Commodity. It is powerful and a punch in the face. No tomato leaf accord listed but it does trick my mind to believe it is there.
I’ll have to check out Italian Leather, because I do really enjoy Iris Malikhan (never would have known they were similar)! Thanks for the video, Sebastian! ❤
I absolutely love tomato leaf fragrances! I would be curious to hear what you think about another tomato leaf/vine fragrance: CB 103 Memory of Kindness as there aren't many reviews for that brand's offerings. Thank you for everything you do!
So interesting - I like tomato and tomato leaves, but I never got this scentnote in un Jardin sur le nile (which I regularly repurchase for many years now). Sadly, so far I had no opportunity to smell the new MM. I love Iris malikhan since I received a sample with my yearly Christmas perfume purchase. Absolutely on my wishlist since then. The Vaniteese from Dita v.T. reminds me a bit of Iris malikhan. Recently I wore a lot of Hunq the Gardener (airy minty to my untrained nose 😅). Thx for the great overview ✨🍅 now I'm even more curious to try the new Margiela.
Interesting I don't have in my olfactive memory the smell of Tomato leaves and I don't have any fragrance from the list 😬I need to go to the market to remind me of their smell also try some samples. Thanks for the video Sebastian!!!
I have From the Garden and I’m really enjoying it to wear at work as well as for my daytime scent! Price is high for not being eau de Parfum but oh well, I still enjoy it 🤷🏼♀️
I have a sample of Joop! All about Adam (I think that's the name?) that also has a lot of tomato leaf. I love the tomato leaf scent - can't wait to try this!
I have a travel spray and really enjoy it. I would definitely consider a full bottle when I see on the discount sites. $165 is way too much for what this is.
I’m a big fan of green scents! I love Italian Leather which I don’t really get any leather at all. Yes! To me, it absolutely reminds me of Iris Malikhan! I love them both but I think Iris Malikhan is a bit better but less tomato leafy. I just tried From The Garden last weekend in Sephora and it smelled freaking amazing. I was tempted to buy it but I wanted to wait until their Rouge sale. It became very faint 2-3 hours mark so now I’m not sure. I think this summer I will stick with my longest lasting green magic - Synthetic Jungle❤
I honestly don't know if I have smelled many tomato leaf fragrances. I'm picky about green notes and don't like them if they turn too sharp or bitter. I'll have to try a few of these to see if they work out for me.
I also have the scent memory of my grandpa's tomato patch & spending time there with him. I don't want to wear it but I want to buy one for the memory just to sniff. Great video.
🍅 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅 the feeling and mood tomato leaf scents evoke is pure summertime joy. I try and smell all and any I can. I hadn’t put Galbanam and Tomato leaf together but I see it! Aube Pashmina by Pierre Guillaume is/ was(?) a lovely one.
What do you think is a good scent to layer with l'ombre dans l'eau to freshen it up. I find it to be too overwhelmingly wet and mossy green has a vintage, old smell to it, sorta sticks on the skin and feels suffocating. Even with the ETD a little goes a long way.
I find tomato leaves to smell almost exactly like the plant lantana’s flowers. It grows in hot dry climates, it’s sold as an annual here in Colorado. Anyone else?
in 2017-2018 year Maison Margiela for each bottle of perfume 100 ml. I paid 55 dollars. why is it now 3 times more expensive? Perhaps this brand was bought by a large conglomerate and is now making money
@@ThePerfumeGuy Large perfume stores can offer good discounts from time to time, but even without a discount on a regular day they cost $80-90 per bottle
