I just came back from there and it’s amazing how your review pretty much hit all the opinions I have about the resort. The pool, the Covid test, the food, the beach, the room... it’s pretty much what I had to say!! Great job!
Thank you for your informative and helpful review! I booked our Honeymoon for the last week of January 2022 for 8 nights. I love how your review went over items that I would not have thought about prior to booking, like transportation and making reservations at the restaurants that require them, very helpful!
As a travel agent, I will be going here in May! My room was only $80 with our travel agent rates and I can't wait to review this property for my clients!!
Thank you for your thourough ans insightful review. Is there any advantage to book direct on the majestic website or going through a 3rd party such as expedia?
Thanks for watching! I try to book through the website because I feel you better better service. Usually the price is the same and if not you can ask them to price match Expedia because they want you to book through them
Just as I wondered if they have booze cruises (I don't really know what that is), you described the trip to Saona which was exciting to me. 24 hour room service and sports bar is a plus for me too. I'm going to exhaust your library before too long lol.
Going there in November for my 30th! Thank you for your very informative review. I'm subscribed, and I look forward to seeing more content in the future
Thank you so much!!! I haven’t been to Melia. My advice would be to go to Trip Advisor and filter by the most recent reviews and read the first 10 for each and see if there are any recent issues etc!!
Great vid! My husband and I got married at Majestic a few years ago, thinking of going 2022 for our anniversary! Also as a hospitality employee myself, I appreciate your comments about not judging resorts/restaurants etc on certain things because of covid. I know so many places that are short staffed right now and we're hustling; it is sometimes hard to keep up. Thank you!
Hi! Thanks so much for this video! My husband and I are going there for our honeymoon next week!! I am trying to think ahead of where we would eat for lunch and dinner (because we both are huge foodies!). What was eating during the day like for you??
That place was nice we were just there last week. We upgraded to the adult section. Mucho tranquilo no kids, teenagers etc. I really enjoyed it going back next year
This video was so helpful. Do you mind sharing what your room number was or building because I absolutely love the location to the pool and beach and would love to request it if possible !
Hi! Yes they had small ones. at 3:39 you can see the one right below our room. On the walking tour that we do we show you another one behind the excursion hut. There wasn't one big one which was a downside for us too. However we were told at the property next to us had a nice one but it was closed when we were there bc of COVID which was either the Colonial or the Elegance and you have access to it as a club level. I am actually going back next year to do a review of all of the properties because I feel like this could be a 10/10 with that access!!
This video is amazing and what I needed. I went to Jamaica solo last year and I am planning a solo trip to Punta Cana this year and I'm researching hotels but after watching your video I believe I found the hotel I want to stay at. SUCH A GREAT VIDEO and thank you for being super informative and realistic about your expectations and understanding during COVID times. Such a good video!!!
Thanks! I’ve only been to the one in Punta Cana and Costa Mujeres. I actually do a comparison video of them. I preferred the Punta Cana one but they both had good qualities.
Thinking of booking this resort last minute for Christmas and New Years. Never been away from Canada at Christmas as my kids were younger. Now they are in 20’s. Would you recommend this hotel. Plus I lost my dad a few months ago and I am thinking being away may be a better choice. Thank you …. Sorry for long message just wanted to know if this “fits” what is happening at home. Thank you for a fab review. I enjoyed. :) I
Fantastic review, really informative! I’m booking a vacation for Punta Cana next month. I’m torn between the Lopesan, Majestic Mirage or Breathless. What’s your thoughts on that and what would your choice be?
Thank you! I’ve only been to the Majestic! But I would write down your top 5 must haves and then see which one satisfies the most of them. Make sure you watch recent YT videos on the resorts to see how the beach is. Sometimes in the summer certain parts have a lot of seaweed. Also go to La Isla Saona!! Watch my video on that too!!
Great Vid! I Loved the Majestic Mirage Punta Cana. We have stayed there 3 times. I was surprised you didn’t mention the McJestic or the casino. They are over on the colonial side but are accessible to Mirage members and they are both fantastic!
Thanks for watching! We went in March 2021. Summer time it’s pretty hot. Haven’t been to Punta Cana during Summer but heard the seaweed is bad during those months. Best time in the Caribbean is def after Hurricane season through April.
hello thank you for this video!! we are planning on going her next March, how do you go about getting a butler. And were dinner reservations hard to get? thank you!!!
Thank you for watching!! The butler is assigned to you if you’ve upgraded to club level. We didn’t have an issue getting reservations but at times the actual time we wanted wasn’t available. Thanks for watching!!
great video. It will be our first trip to the DR, and this resort. Do you know if ALL rooms face the pool area or ocean? We reserved a MIRAGE CLUB ONE BEDROOM SUITE, and want to make sure we are not looking at a parking lot or another building from our balcony.
Thanks for watching!! Very exciting! I do not know if they do. I always call the resort and request a view. They will tell me sometimes that they can’t take requests but Then I ask what rooms would guarantee a good view and if I need to upgrade
Hi Phil! Definitely watch the video about 10 Things I wish I knew…. For this resort I would say to request Jeffrey as your butler if he is still there. Also the Dominican time is slower than ours so prepared to be on island time and love it!! Also plan any excursions you want to do ahead of time!!
Thank you so much!!! I have some that in some of my later videos but it does fluctuate from year to year! So I’ve been trying to give ranges. Great feedback!!! Thank you!
Hello thanks for the informative review. We are booked for March 2022. Could you please let us know if the rooms have a bad odour or it’s just some reviews on tripadvisor are bad. I will be so thankful
I think because of the humidity at times the rooms smelled musty. I always bring my essential oil sprays and zap it out lol. www.blancheandcompany.com/collections/blanche-co-all-natural-sprays
Thanks for watching! I actually got it a few years ago in DR at one of the resort shops. I’m so sad though bc it’s on it’s last leg lol. It has holes and stains that you can’t see 🤣. Please subscribe if you liked the video! We do reviews every 3 months!
Can you make reservations to ala carte restraunts prior to arriving or do you have to wait till you arrive? Also, was there an upgrade charge to get into ocean front room? thanks
Your videos are amazing. Thanks for sharing. I was never planning to go back to Punta Cana after visiting the level at the melia a few years ago. I have fell in love with Mexico in the past 2 years visiting Cancun area 4 times. I have been to majestic costa mujeres last year and absolutely loved it. Going back in April 2022. But now I think I want to visit this majestic as well.
@@3Days3Noches during the pandemic we visited excellence playa mujures. It was nice. The rooms were clean but a little dated. It has the lazy river flow type pool thing too but they also have a nice main pool. We also went to trs coral. I loved the pool and room. We had the loft suite amazing. Food was pretty good. The hounded is about time share visits though. I actually had to complain about it. And majestic in costa mujesres. My favorite. And it was prob half th cost of the other resorts. Lastly we went to breathless in Rivera maya. Stayed in the allure section. It was ok. Had a master suite one bedroom three highest category room. Amazing room literally right on the beach. Food prob 7 out of ten. Service was ok. Even though we had top shelf liquor if people weren’t in the upper level section they didn’t have access. I don’t like that about resorts.
I was thinking of trying Playa Mujeres next! Loved the Sun Palace but it is on the pricier side. You can always use our membership if you wanted to try a Palace resort. Annoying sales there too but usually good everything else!
@@3Days3Noches awesome sauce. Appreciate that if we go. I’m going to watch the video on that today again. Truly thanks again though for sharing. You have the most comprehensive videos on resorts. It’s cool. Stay well
Quick question, You rated Majestic Mirage food 8/10 and Sanctuary Cap Cana the same. Majestic is $300 per night and Sanctuary is $800. Was the food the same? Food is most important to my wife and me. We are thinking about booking Hyatt Zilara. Is that the best food? Where was the best food in your experience at Punta Cana.
Good point! Food is soooo subjective!! I find it hard to rate. I really liked the little town in Sanctuary because of the pizza place lol. I think otherwise the food was typical of good all inclusive. Mirage won’t be the spot for you if food is what is important. I haven’t been to Hyatt but anything in the cap Cana area should be a little better
Hi! Thank you so much for this helpful and informative video. We are booked and heading there in September for our 25th anniversary. Excited and nervous at the same time, as we have never done an all inclusive before. We have always been cruisers but right now we are just not with the way things are. Our question to you being all inclusive newbies is about tipping. Is it customary to tip say your butler or not? Just a bit curious. Thinking about possibly upgrading our room as well to ocean view. The resort looks absolutely beautiful! Thanks again for your great video 🙂
Thanks for watching!! Very exciting! Yes it’s customary to tip for any service that you receive. We gave a larger tip to the butler at the end of the stay but then just the other bartenders and waiters $1-2 etc. Cruises are all inclusive right? So it will be like a cruise on land!!! Lol
Love it! I’m going to DR and staying at this resort in November! Got the swim up suite! So excited. Still haven’t booked the transportation to/from the airport. Is there a link?
@@3Days3Noches I texted and emailed info@gomajestictours.com haven't heard back yet. How long did it take for you to get a response for airport transportation? I'm a little concerned, I leave in two weeks for DR
Hello! What a great review. We are looking to book for my husbands 40th birthday with a group of people. I’ve read a few reviews saying that the swimup bars are not open. Are you able to very this? Also others said that pool side and beach side drink service was not good. Any thoughts on that? I appreciate your response!
You explained all so well. The Dominican Republic seems to be a great place. However, I would personally avoid resorts and search for a place closer to the locals.
Thanks for your videos on the two Punta Cana all-inclusive resorts. Very informative! Question: which all-inclusive you've been to (in Punta Cana and elsewhere) had the best food? Also, would you recommend Majestic Mirage or the Royalton Bavaro for travel with teens (two daughters)? Thanks again from a fellow NJ resident!
Thank you for watching! So Royalton is not for teens. Very boring lol. I think Majestic is going to be better especially if the other properties are open. We met Some teens that were bored at the Majestic Mirage but none of the other properties were open. Traveling with teens really is no picnic 🤣🤣
Can you be a bit more specific about the food? Why was the French restaurant you least favorite? What kind of dishes did you like or dislike at the restaurants? You are straight to the point and more informative than 99% of the reviews so time for me to watch your other videos to help me make up my mind on which resort to vacation.
Thanks for watching! I honestly can’t remember the exact dishes we had I’m sorry! But it was usually the lack of flavor or quality of the meat etc. I appreciate your comments:)
Very informative and great review, but there’s one thing I’m wondering, is this resort all inclusive? Some of the reviews I read say conflicting things
Thank you!! Really? We were in the Club Level and everything was included. Sometimes at dinner there is a lobster option or special menu that is extra. You can also pay extra for excursions and special dinners etc. But you don’t need to do any of those and have a great time.
This is a great video, thank you. I was debating between the two rooms but the view of the rooftop may not be worth it. Question about the pool: is there not a swim up bad? That would be a major disadvantage for me.
What a great video. Enjoyed it thoroughly. With respect to your comment about the noise factor with rooms near the bars, can one request a room in a more quieter area, without being given a room on the back side of the resort? Thank you.
Thank you so much! I think all of the ocean front rooms on both sides are above a bar! You would probably have to go a little closer to the lobby. Thanks for you kind comments 🤗
I never seriously considered a vacation in Punta Cana until watching this video. I am scrambling to book another vacation for the end of this month because I do not think I can meet the covid requirements for another vacay I booked. This place looks absolutely amazing, I agree with you on the pool but I am willing to overlook that if the beach is as nice as you say. I keep seeing videos of people talking about bad seaweed in Punta Cana did you have any issues when you there because really the beach is my only interest.
Punta Cana is beautiful! But yes during the summer the seaweed can get bad. It wasn’t too bad when we were there but that was in January! If you go on trip advisor and read the most recent reviews people will talk about it if it’s bad. You can also search seaweed as a keyword in the reviews. I agree with you the beach is why I go too!!!
So I decided to postpone because of the uncertainties regarding the new variant Omicron. Do you think the first week of April will be ok or crowded? Is it the American Spring Break? Thank you.
Hi! American Spring Break is usually around Easter which is late this year - the 17th. It should be okay. It does get more crowded regardless as you get into March April May etc!
I have been there it is the very best love the staff butler service and 24hours service ,10 across the board best place in Punta Cona. LOVE LOVE THE MAJASTIC
Hi we are going next July thanks to your great review ! Our 18 year old has now decided he does want to come with us but we have already booked the vacation, I can't book a separate room for him via our Vacation company as he needs to be 19 ! ( Costco Travel ) I wondered if once we get there the hotel might be able do us a deal to put him in a separate room, Who would you recommend to talk too, Thanks in advance
Thanks for watching! Don’t you just love 18 year olds lol!! So you could book through hotels.com and put your name on it and they still have good deals. You could also call the hotel and ask what it would be to add an extra room and just put it under your name and then say your husband and son are staying in the other room. We did that at the Royalton. We booked two different rooms and separated the kids and then the kids all piled into one room. Tell him to bring a friend! It will be a great time had by all. If you wait until you get there you could risk them being sold out etc and then you’re all stuck in one room 🤣👎🏻
Going here for our honeymoon in October and this was the perfect review! I was a little worried about excursions and what not but it seems like there is lots to do!
Hi. Leaning towards going to the Magestic Mirage, great review. Is there anywhere else in the DR you would recommend over it at the same price point while maintaining food-service-safety? Thanks!
Thanks so much for this video!!! Great tips and the most informative that I’ve found on YT. What is the difference between the Mirage and the other properties- Elegance & Colonial? Also you mentioned this was your third all inclusive in PC, would you say this is the best one and why over the others? My fiancé and I are between Paradisus, this one and Royalton.
Thanks so much. This is only the 3rd I’ve been to in Punta Cana. I haven’t been to the other properties but supposedly this is the best one. The other two were Iberostar and Royalton. I liked this one the best so far. Read through the comments. Someone was raving about Secrets. I think it’s a higher price point but will try that one next!
I prefer not to go through travel agents only because I like controlling all the aspects of planning lol!!! but when I first started traveling I did and loved Suzanne at suzanne@ellitravel.com. Tell her Blanche sent you 😄
@@3Days3Noches thanks! We’ve reached out to her and mentioned you as well :) - we're also considering Iberostar. Would you prefer that over Royalton? Mirage is also still a top contender.
Thanks for your response...great information. One more question, is it safe to drink the alcohol, a few years ago people were getting sick & some even died I’m assuming due to tainted alcohol?? We are little worried about drinking the alcohol. 😟
Thank you for your update. I have been to Majestic Colonial, and considering the Mirage for a 2 week stay. Though, I do mirror some of your observations. If you had to pick your preferred comparable resort to Mirage that has the "larger pool" layout like you prefer what would it be? Note, I have been to about 10 resorts in Punta Cana total, so no slouch there.
Thanks for watching! Do you mean in Punta Cana? If so you’ve probably been to more resorts than I have! But the Royalton Bavaro was nice but it wasn’t adults only. I’ve been to Cancun more times and loved the Barcelo adults only! I did a video on both of them! Would love your input on some to try in Punta Cana!
Hi! Great review! Thank you for sharing! I know you said that you did not love the lazy river layout, ... just wondering though: Does the lazy river lead to any swim up bars? Or do you have to walk and if so, how far.... ?
Thanks for watching! Yes they had a small one at the end but it was in the corner with only like 6 seats. Plus it was closed bc of COVID. I didn’t see any others but my understanding is hat you have access to the Elegance next door but that was closed as well when we went! Bars are all over to get drinks though 🥳
Hello. What a good video. I have a question. My wife says the hotel looks very calm, almost "dead", as she doesn't see people. She tells me she wants something more lively; for adults; no hustle, but not so "dead" or sad. She's impression is right or is there some animation? Thanks.
Thank you!! Remember we went during COVID so yes it was a little “dead” but I’m wondering if more is open now? They were very strict with restrictions and the night club was closed. If you’re open to going to Cancun the Majestic there was so fun!! Just published a video on it!
we are going next summer. 2 adults + 2 daughters ( young adults). we are interested In excursions...what is your advise regarding these? ALso, thought about getting reservations at restaurants or trouble getting them?
That’s exciting! There are a ton of excursions to go on. Contact Majestic Tours which is onsite so you can start looking through them. I’m not sure how much they would like La Saona it’s kind of boring for kids maybe but it’s beautiful. We didn’t have any trouble with reservations because the butler took care of them! Sounds like it’s going to be a great time.
Thanks for watching. Honestly The Grand at Moon Palace in Cancun is the best!!! The beach isn’t that great but the food is the best of any place I’ve been. Watch our video on it!!!!
Thanks for watching! It depends on who you are traveling with. Couples only I would do Majestic. Small kids under 8 go to the Royalton. Older kids would probably prefer Majestic although there wasn’t really too much for them to do there either!
This resort looks just as nice as any sandals property and for the thousands less. I have booked with them a few times and looking for a more cost friendly option. A 7 day sandals trip is usually $4600-$6000 US. Looks like for less then $3500 we could do this. Excellent review! Question. How much extra is appropriate to bring for a 7 day as far as tips go? I realize it’s more of a personal preference thing but I’m saying roughly. Sandals were a no gratuities with exception to the butler which we did not have so I’m kinda lost as far as that goes and do not wanna be cheap.
Yes I agree! Been to Beaches but it hard to go back when you have the same experience for so much less! I usually say $20-40 a day depending on the days activities.
