Ok. I'm jealous!! Nothing like that sail-away! Miss the music, the feeling of the ship starting to move, and that feeling that you've started a week of unlimited possiblities!
The Medallion app and the medallion itself were brilliant. I don’t know what other cruise lines are doing right now, but what a great idea. Kept everything completely organized, and you were easily connected with new passenger friends. Nobody was grumpy on this cruise, and I think it might have something to do with Princess’s amazing job with the whole Medallion program.
I love sailing away in Seattle. That long run to the ocean through the Straits of Juan de Fuca from the Salish to the Pacific is gorgeous. Rainier off in the distance, looming large. Gorgeous.
We spent our sail away in one of the outdoor hot tubs drinking champagne. The weather was just like this. It was very memorable. The crew were so amazing. It was my first Princess cruise, and it was amazing. Tons of people in their 70’s, it was wonderful.
Our Princess Alaska cruise was about 1/3 Korean tourists and most everybody else was well into retirement age. It was crazy. Everybody went to bed at 8-9 pm and I had the entire Skywalkers bar to myself after that.
@@LostInSpice That’s very similar to the sailing I was on. Everyone went to bed around 8 or 9. So crazy, but kind of relaxing not to have to deal with children and party people.
Tony. Joining late. Was literary awaiting for this vlog all day. I am almost excited as if I was actually there. Will be sailing with you the whole week.
Love the medallion…especially now…easy for Princess to track passengers just in case of covid cases. Saw some comments about being creepy when your cabin doors unlock. Sure a convenience when hands are full. Won’t open from inside the cabin. Been using medallions for a few years. We love it! No Starbucks on Board.
Hi, Tony and Jen: I'm glad you had a great time in Washington State, Seattle is an interesting place to visit, hope you were able to visit Pike's Market before your trip. The Puget-(pew git) sound is huge it stretches for miles and miles, having lived there as a kid, I really enjoyed fishing and boating on the Puget. I hope the weather is Western Washington in Seattle wasn't too uncomfortable, usually in Western Washington the weather is mild, but it can become humid. My sisters had lived out in Washington State for over twenty years and had planned on retiring out there before things changed, they ended up moving back to Michigan to help take care of my elderly father. Before Covid hit Washington State, I went out to see my sisters and saw a lot of Western Washington, including the Cascade mountain range. While, I was visiting my sisters they took me to see Seattle and I really enjoyed seeing the Cascade mountain range as I looked out over the sound in Seattle.-I hope you had a great cruise
The horn is SOOOOO Princess. Feel I like. I'm a kid and my parents are watching Love Boat! Of course with Fantasy Island right after!!! Have a great cruise T.
Thanks for sharing Tony! Have fun, can’t wait to see what material you share with us. An Alaska cruise has long been on my bucket list, my wife prefers the Caribbean. Be safe and happy sailing!
Beautiful! Have never been to Alaska, or Seattle for that matter, so this would be a bucket list cruise. My husband hates the heat so he wants to do Alaska for sure. haha Enjoy!!
Thank you Tony, really enjoyed the sail away, brought back wonderful memories 😊, enjoy every moment of your cruise, looking forward to seeing the next video
Hey Tony and Don - looks like a great cruise day start for you on the Majestic. We loooove Princess and miss those cruises - will be on Grand Princess in July 2022 to Alaska so really looking forward to your cruise vlogs - have a great time!
This was so much fun. After watching RU-vid videos for far too long, we cruise on 24 Sep out of Seattle. Living not far from you, we are ready for the beautiful state of Alaska. It’s THE best time to cruise. Thanks to you and Don for setting the mood! and getting lost in Seattle (gotta get that SB cup) 🥳
I was on this same cruise Aug 15-22. You are going to have a wonderful time! When you get to Juneau, look for Deckhand Dave's. (was recommended by all the locals) Their food is great! Best Fish & Chips and best Fish Tacos ever!! =)
I am on this cruise!! Sailaway was very nice. Too bad today we are completely fogged in lol. I haven't seen yourself or Don around yet. Maybe tonight! :)
Tony hope you have a fantastic cruise. Alaska is one of our favorites. We are easing back into cruising and currently on the Carnival Panorama, beautiful ship. Keep up the FANTASTIC BLOGS, your the best.
We flew to anchorage and sailed from there, so Seattle is new to me. We disembarked at Vancouver, so beautiful. I’m almost as excited as you, I think. 😂
Welcome to my world. Have departed that pier more than once. You will love the transit through Elliot Bay and up through the Straights of Juan de Fuca.
It’s like being on the cruise too. Can’t wait to see Alaska again, I cruised there in 2008!!! My last cruise was in South America, right before the pandemic. I miss the feeling of the ship sailing away.. Have a wonderful time! 🛳 🐋🐻
