I'm not surprised at all that you still sound magnificent Ace! You were one of several music majors @ FSU that I respected during my time there. When I saw your youtube name I hoped this video was yours! Beautiful, ringing and strong! I too am still playing . . . going strong at age 61 . . . preparing to do the Bergeron "O Holy Night" in a week with the Georgia Big Band. My how time flies! Warmest regards, Tom Turner (and fellow brother in Christ since '83) - Dublin, GA
Almost verbatim like Phil Driscoll, excellently done nevertheless! But if you're to do a Phil Driscoll rendition, you should move a little bit more! ;-p
Ace, If there is any song more soul stirring and Majestic than your performance of this arrangement, then I don't know!! I have been trying to work on this very song presently....this one has real stirred my heart! Do you know of any way I can find an arrangement VERY similar to this rendition? I realize where you placed your own ad libs, as I have played for the most part since 1964< non-professionly and play in 4 bands. I enjoy every type of music and playin a big band concert bands, but I love Gospel. God bless, Ace! Thank you
Awesome! Most inspiring, super range. I am about to perform the song for 1st Baptist Baton Rouge using 3 octaves on Flugal then Severinsen trumpet. Any chance of obtaining arrangement? Thanks Lee
