Some of it is great indeed, but when you head out and experiment other stuff, the "orginal" thing that people hyped and even you were so keen on, is not the same anymore. Anyone that shows extreme brand loyalty to a fast food burger place isn't enjoying a burger, they're developing a tolerance for their local grease. You have to go to an actual restaurant that specializes in Burgers before you're going to get anything consistently better than "pretty good".

As a californian, the appeal of In-N-Out is not the food itself (it is mid), the appeal is that it's cheap and the menu has literally 3 things on it: Hamburger, Cheeseburger, and Double Cheeseburger. Also Animal Style if you like grilled onions and mustard Anyone getting hype over the food itself is lying through their teeth (or extremely caucasian)
The exact same thing happened to me when I ate at Five Guys. That burger was the most average, mid, lukewarm burger I've ever tasted. I had to double check that we were at the right restaurant lmao
"Fun" Fact: I have out of state friends that insist on eating at Five Guys anytime they visit. I have gotten extreme stomach problems every single time I ate there. Does not stop them from really wanting it. It is bizarre.
The point of in-n-out has always been quality for price. It's a good burger you can get cheap, fast, and in most cities in California. No fast food burger chain can really compare.
They opened a Popeyes near where I used to live in South Carolina a while back and I never went for months because the lines were so long. Then when I got it it was ok, but I figured there wasn't really a point to driving past the Bojangles that is way closer to my house to get there.

something I've noticed is the people who shittalk tim hortons the most are the mfers who go there 3 times a day. For me it's only for dire emergencies or long drives, but I'm thankful it's everywhere in those cases
I live in Cali, but I rarely go to In-n-Out because the line is always immense and it takes 30 minutes to get your food. But people flock to it because it's a regional brand. The food is decent, but I usually go to an independently owned place if I want a burger.
Living in south america and hearing this i feel like when i go to america one day to try out all the fast food restaurants i'm gonna be incredibly disappointed.
Honestly? They're not the best burger by a long shot. The point being though, when compared to your local mcdonalds and burger king, the quality is a degree better. The ingredients are always fresh and a animal style double with some banana peppers tastes pretty good. Also unlimited lemonade.

I too was hyped beyond belief about In-N-Out and was served the most mid food I have ever had. Fries are also trash as soon they stop being hot....garbage.
i get where Obama is coming from. after hearing people hype up waffle house for so long, i know that when i get to america, go to the waffle house at the dead of night and i finish my meal without some wild fight breaking out, i will think people were hyping up this joint for nothing
I feel like everyone has a story like this. I always heard that Five Guys was the best junk food, sure it was still junk food, but out of all junk food establishments it was the best. And it was just greasy as fuck, I was hoping for something slightly better than McDonald's (which is a LOW LOW bar), but a glass of grease trap would've probably tasted the same...
Imagine thinking fast good chains make anything worth eating XD I mean, that's not to say that I won't eat it some now and then. Gotta eat some trash takeout burgers to appreciate home-made ones loaded with ginger, garlic, coriander, chilis, diced onions and whatever else you want to put in to give it the flavour you're aiming for.

I am from new orleans and spent a lot of time in baton rouge and if you live in BR and ride for canes outside of tailgating you belong in prison. All the food and culture there but the ketchup mayo combo is what gets you? Its literally basic biddy remoulade but without the taste
@@doogies I don't disagree at all that it's only good out of the 100ct tray, it's been forever since I've just bought it like for lunch. My mom made a crawfish dip as a kid, that when I first had canes sauce it tasted really similar, so I've got some emotional attachment to it. Just in case, "bad take" was solely about the quality of the sauce.
okay i like in n out but they're definitely overhyped. but. best thing about in n out for me: The Onions. those fuckers will make you regret eating them before you even take a bite and that's the way i fuckin' LIKE it. also, try ordering animal fries. they're pretty good
for me in and out is good for the price but the fries are god awful. it crazy it so busy when the fries suck. i still get it every now and then just for a burger and a drink. definitely overhyped
are West coast people so starved for a decent burger they hype up in and out? had the same problem as obama, it was hyped to high heaven but at the end of the day? it was fine. then years later I end up at a Whataburger and I'm obsessed to this day 😂 literally never heard of it before my wife took me to one. maybe one isn't necessarily better than the other but the overall experience of Whataburger was way more positive
