I’m so glad that people are finding food to feed themselves but as a farmer, seeing meat and food being thrown out and wasted is horrible! We put in so much time, money and effort to raise a crop and/or animal and only get a fraction of what we put into it!
I would be so curious as to what this would all cost if you bought it. So sad to see all the waste in this country. Good for you and cant wait to see work on your new house
AWESOME HAUL!!!!! And that N.Y Strip Roast ! WOW!! AMAZING Id try see if maybe you could cut a few thick steaks out it DELICIOUS! SOOO GLAD YOU SAVED ALL THAT!!!💖💖
Yes, cut it into steaks and fry them hot and fast in a cast iron skillet. I don't know how it would come out slow cooked/stewed. If that is part of your plan, I would try it with a smaller piece. I have cut strip steaks for stir frys but again that's a hot and fast method. My Aldi does sell Tyson chicken and it is said that Aldi chicken is supplied by Tyson. Not sure if that's true, but I have seen Tyson sold there.
Wow. It looks like you just went shopping in the store! That's amazing! I'm so glad you rescued perfectly good food! Excited about you new place. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Good haul! Can't believe people dump a perfectly good $76 piece of beef roast. Darn this is crazy. Looking forward to the new home videos. Peace Love Happiness
Hey Cam👋 Your table looks like mine when I go grocery shopping!! Seriously! What an amazing haul from the dumpster gods! LOL!! I am so happy for you! I’m not a big meat eater either. I could never afford those prices and quite frankly I like chicken and fish and veggies a ton so it’s all good. But what a HAUL! So excited for you! Sending you BIG LOVE ❤️
Wow, you found a lot of nice things. The meat alone is so expensive and I don't buy a lot unless it's on sale. A friend got a deer this year and gave Jayke and I quite a bit. We love venison and it's so lean. I always love watching you cook, you give me a lot of ideas. We get tired of the same thing. Lol 😅. Looking forward to another video soon honey. Can't wait to see your "New Home". As always sending love and hugs. Take care of yourself and God bless you and your family honey 💕💜💕
WOW, super duper haul DC 👍,LOVE IT ALL . I haven't tried the Takis meat before, so I'd be hesitant. But hey you did great with all the other things. 😄❤️✝️
I just happened to come across your video. I didn't know anybody dumpster dived at Aldi's. I too am in the metro area I'm actually north of Detroit in New Baltimore 🙂 nice to see you RU-vidr in my area. You have a great hall in this video.
U can chop all those veggies up, onions, zucchini, carrots, and make an amazing vegetable soup and throw the rotini in. If the pastas too big, I cook it first then chop it smaller, then throw it into the soup. I think rotini is small tho. It becomes a vegetable minestrone soup. Toss 1 large can of crushed tomatoes, some chicken or veggie broth. Thyme, garlic, sage, a little cumin. It’s delicious comfort food. I can freeze the rest too. So good during these cold months. 🌝👏
I’d put the big chunk of meat in a cooking oven bag,,with onions, carrots, celery,,,,cook it for hours in the oven,,,I have done that before and the meat is so tender. I think the oven works better. I would cut the meat in half,
I never buy beef or pork . well , hot dogs 4 my lol dog treat. She gets a bite or 2. Too salty for dogs. Most peepl food is. Make chkn-( rice stew and salt tour portion and add onions to only yours.
Gutted! When I found your channel, I thought we would actually get to see you dumpster diving but we don’t get to see any of it, just a reveal of what we could of seen you find lol . Stay safe
What a haul! You will probably be happy to have that heavy work gear if your power ever goes out. You should have plenty pasta sauce. You can can it too. Ive never canned meats, but you should be able to can some of the meats, if you choose. I personally love onion and tomato and zucchini. Cant help but imagine the great smell of the roast cooking with onions and peppers and if you plan to use it in stew you can add tomatoes and celery if you come across any. I also like making onion soup. You can add sour cream to it.
Big Happy Dance for you!! Incredible finds! Yes, I always feel horrible when animals give their lives to feed us and they wind up in the garbage. In my opinion ~ Greatest Sin Ever!! I am a vegetarian too. Glad you were able to save it and use it. Never heard of Caramel Hummus. Let us know what that's like. Have you used your rotisserie yet? Was wondering how it worked. Well Done. Hugs. xo
Thank you! Yes, I have used the rotisserie once. It definitely worked, and was fun in a novel type of way, but not very practical for me. The chicken was pretty moist though! Right now it's just sitting in my shed, maybe I'll try it out again some day.
U can just put a hook on the back of the Christmas picture and hang it on the wall. Throw the takis to the animals outside since winter time there’s no food on trees.
Wow that is a lot of free food, so glad you were able to save it, regarding the meat products, maybe they were taken from the chilled area and just left somewhere else in the store so they have to be thrown away once they are not chilled anymore, and I totally agree with you about the animals being slaughtered then their meat thrown away!
It be great to dumpster dive get food vac seal and freeze up stuff like fruit and veggies to have later in the year to cut back on what have to buy in store
Meat prices are awful. I spent almost $25 on a chuck roast. It's only my husband and myself so I can definitely spread it out in a few meals. Regular pot roast with potatoes vegetable beef soup I'll make bbq sandwiches and finally add taco or fajita seasoning and make some wraps. My ingredients to make the meals are pretty inexpensive so I guess it's ok. I would so dumpster dive but I'm afraid of getting caught. We live in a small town and our police do a good job monitoring businesses. Luckily we do have a food pantry we can visit once a month and that's such a blessing!!! You stay safe and blessed. Bundle up and stay warm out there. 💕
Some very good finds - just a thought; you may want to pick up a couple pallets and make a compost bin at the end of your property - you certainly find enough goodies to compost to have for a garden by spring... Thanks for sharing...
I'm hoping to. I tried to catch him the week following Christmas after he showed up to eat with a huge wound on his neck. I set out a live trap and monitored him, but he never went in. And since he wasn't going in the trap where the food was, he wasn't eating. I will definitely keep trying, but as of now he seems to prefer being outside unfortunately
@@DumpsterCam I’m happy that you’re going to keep trying. Feral cats just do what they will, but maybe you’ll be successful. We can only hope. Thank you for answering.
Seriously side-eye 😏 the Takis...but the rest of the food looks great! The cover-alls? 👍 who cares about a little paint - great find for outdoor tasks!!! I don't know about you, but I've had covid twice and it messed up my sense of smell and taste! "When in doubt - throw it out" 👍 I really look forward to the 'making meals' part (I'm not a great/inventive cook..but food is *so* expensive, I need to try harder!) Thnx 😃
I 💯 agree with you about the animals who’s life was sacrificed for food being tossed as if it didn’t matter. In my father’s culture if you sacrifice an animal you better utilize every part of it
I would love to start dumpster diving, but I'm very intimidated and afraid of a confrontation. Do you always dive during the day or do you do some at night?
You have quite a lot of eating in your meat haul as a single person. Before you slow cook that roast, consider cutting a steak or so from it for a treat. Also, consider cutting then freezing some stew meat. - I shopped at a place many years ago where a woman bought 4 roasts per month with her food stamps then cut and ground it to feed the family for the month. For the actual protien, it was cheaper to buy roasts then cut it down for other uses herself.
put the bananas in the freezer, peel and all and when you that them out in a bowl you can make banana bread. The onions you can chop them up and freeze as well, the fruit can be frozen for smoothies
I do :) I mentioned in this video that I'm going to pressure can the chicken, might do a good bit of the beef as well! Super convenient to have shelf stable meat
There are many different reasons why food gets thrown out. Being passed it's sell by date is most common, if the packaging is damaged, for fruit and veggies if one of the items isn't looking as great but the others are fine, if they got a new shipment in and need more shelf space, if it's seasonal, if they are no longer carrying that item, etc. We are such a wasteful society
