When you say that the 2024 CFA level 1 exam would test candidates on more advanced topics, do you think that there would be a more practical approach to testing candidates in a real work environment and that it would be useful for corporate finance professionals working full time to continue honing their skills by pursuing the CFA programme?

The CFA accreditation will always have some value for your personal brand and showing the level of effort you can commit to learning and multi-tasking. Your real work experience directly will determine your real work success of course.

What's your take on the new optional pack containing 1,000 more questions and 6 additional mocks for CFA level 1 at $299
@ChalkBoardCFAPrep
@ChalkBoardCFAPrep Год назад
It's an interesting option, but it's also hard to say at this stage whether all these new questions and mocks will help you pass your exams much better than all the existing questions and mocks the same question writers already offer candidates as part of the usual package. At chalkanboard.org our mocks and materials are aimed to help you pass, not just practice answering repetitive similar questions again and again. Good luck in your studies!

I am planning to give the cfa L1 in nov’23 haven’t registered yet. Should I give it in 2023 or 2024 which will be better according to you?

same @Chalk & Board tell us what you think.

Do not worry about taking it in 2023 versus 2024 based on this change. If you take it in 2023, you can pick up the skills modules at L2 when you take it in 2024. Instead, focus on your study schedule and availability. If you can take the exam in 2023 and be prepared for that, it doesn't make sense to defer just to try the new format. Your L2 exam will be in the new format and you will have the opportunity to get the information there. Feel free to reach out to us on the Chalk & Board website or talk to Nathan using his LinkedIn provided in the video description if you have specific questions about your situation, have a great day.

Please see our recent comment here - it probably doesn't make sense to defer your exam simply to get the new L1 content, because you will have a chance to get them at L2 when you take that. If you have further specific questions then feel free to reach out to us through the Chalk & Board website or you can contact Nathan through his LinkedIn that is provided in this video's descriptions. Good luck in your studies.

Thanks for the question! You are correct, if you can stick with November then it's probably ideal. If you seek great prep materials and a study plan to help prepare you for November, we have experience helping students with tight timelines to pass: chalkandboard.org Good luck!

Hi Sir -- Thanks for posting this video. I'm planning on taking Level 2 in early 2024 (passed Level 1 in the June 2018 exam). I already use Python, R etc and train machine learning models as part of my current job, so I am cool with the practical modules and will pick one. For the actual exam though, I am not sure what content is changing between the old and the new formats. For instance, I have completed the Ethics and Economics parts (just studying, not the practice questions, which are the most important). I'm currently going through the Financial Statement Analysis content (material purchased from Schweser back in December 2018). Is 2018 FSA material (from any institute) still valid for 2024 or should I repurchase the material that's more relevant for 2024? I called both the CFA Institute and Schweser yesterday and both mentioned the 2024 material will be out sometime in May 2023. That's a month away and I'd be losing time. Should I temporarily halt my FSA studies until I see the new material? Thanks for advising.

Dear SK - I would always advice using current, up to date prep material that matches the exam you will be graded on. In the meantime you can of course study some with older materials, but if you want to maximize the accuracy of your studies then you should use materials matching your exam date. We have videos on this channel over the past few months that summarize the recent changes to the L2 exam in 2023 and 2024. You can visit Chalk & Board's website for our bundle packages also. Good luck in your studies.
