this is good. I wish there were more videos like this about the specific ethnic groups in many countries. I wish they would emphasize the physical appearance as well because those of us who are descendants of enslaved people in the diaspora would like to compare our appearance to the appearance of these tribes to help us to determine which ones we may belong to historically. DNA tests are fine, but you can really identify when you see someone who looks like you.

Ah I wish it were that simple! But we are really all mixed. Especially us in the west of Africa. As we started in the north east of Africa Ie. Egypt, Ethiopia and what is now recently known as the “Middle East” Don’t get me wrong there are definitely stereotypical looks in each tribe and even clans. However once you think you’ve got it figured out you will then see the same exact a look on the other side of Africa. 😂 As far as ethnicity: there are actually only 4 different indigenous ethnicities in Africa. Ie. Bantu (which is what people in the west typically mean when they say “black”), Nilotic people from the Nile river (average height 6”2- 6”4) named in the bible as Ethiopia “A Tall Smooth Skinned People” then you have Pigmy people who have an average height of 4”11 (Many Filipina’s derive from them as well as asia and Spain of course) and then you have Khoi San people of Southern Africa (believed to be the oldest tribe in the world) also where Chinese people come from. And lastly you Arab/Afro-Asiatic. And most of us are mixed. No one clan is “pure” Many Bantu people immigrated from west Africa to south hence why we have similar looks. Hope this helps somehow. But Rest assured we are all discovering our roots. Akan’s and MANY West African’s are only now discovering that we migrated from Egypt and Israel aka Canaan/Canaana/Akana/Alan The bible is the BEST reference for all ethnic history. I have discovered. We are featured a lot. In many aspects.

Good video but I have some few comments. The Nzema people like the Ashantis and Fantes are Akan. It is not a dialect that determines ones tribe but rather the main language. All languages have dialects. As you mentioned some Akans speak Bia which most Akans do not understand. Even among Fantes who are a subtribe of Akan, you have various dialects. Ashanti and Fante are not different tribes but subtribes of Akan. I know you use the phrase ethnic group, then they are sub ethnic group of Akan. I know many Ghanaians mistakenly called Fante or Ashanti as tribe but that is not correct. Lastly, most Fantes are outside Cape Coast. However, Cape Coast is the Fantes largest city.

@kaycarter1540
@kaycarter1540 19 дней назад
Fante or Ashanti are not tribes. They are ethnic groups belonging to a larger umbrella ethnic group the Akan. A tribe is a community which consists of people from the same clan. That does not describe the Fante or Asante sufficiently. It is pejorative in fact. Fante comprises of numerous clans with a complex level of polities, i.e. Chiefs and ultimately a king. The Asante is similar but is a union of several states with a leader which i would describe as an empire i.e the Asantehene who presides over other kings - Omanhene within Asante. Fante and Asante Twi are regarded as separate languages not dialects of Twi. Fante is different as it has absorbed elements of the Guan languages.

Can you expand ? Yeah they were born in America but why wouldn’t they still be considered Africans ? Genuinely asking.

@@shesfullofwisdomluv3764 It's not a matter of them just being born in America, The Facts are they were here long before anyone else. After the invasion of four countries dividing the land among themselves bring their religion putting people into servitude/enslavement they began to murdering out the people and their elders, stripping them of their languages culture, and heritages erasing and replacing with their own people setting up schools to teach them a false history of their version lying history they want them to believe and the rest of the world. the settlers enslaved the indigenous Americans in their own land they never came from Africa, not one indigenous American has a grandparent or a great, great grandparent that knows or remember anything about Africa or Africans, many Africans do not know anything about the Atlantic slave trade those that do will tell you they learned it from whites history. When I ask about the so-called enslaved dungeons on long the west coast I was told by Africans that it was for trading goods, not people. This is who they saw when they came to Turtle Island known as America. Columbus Himself According to renowned American historian and linguist Leo Weiner of Harvard University, one of the strongest pieces of evidence to support the fact that BLACK PEOPLE sailed to America before Christopher Columbus was a journal entry from Columbus himself. In Weiner’s book, “Africa and the Discovery of America,” he explains that Columbus noted in his journal that the Native Americans confirmed “black skinned people had come from the south-east in boats, trading in gold-tipped spears. Egyptian Artifacts in North America For years, Eurocentric archaeologists have largely turned the other cheek when it came to the discovery of artifacts from ancient Egypt being discovered in the Americas. According to Dr.David Imhotep, the author behind the book “The First Americans Were AFRICAN: Documented Evidence,” “Egyptian artifacts found across North America from the Algonquin writings on the East Coast to the artifacts and Egyptian place names in the Grand Canyon” are all signs of an early arrival in the Americas by AFRICANS. This is also paired with a much earlier account of BLACK PEOPLE with incredible skills at sea. Back in 445 B.C. THE GRAVES NEVER LIE IT'S THE LIVING THAT LIES Ancient African Skeletons Discovered in the New World There have been many instances of archaeologists discovering skulls and skeletons that they believed clearly belonged to people of African descent. Polish professor Andrzej Wiercinski revealed the discovery of African skulls at Olmec sites in Tlatilco, Cerro de las Mesas and Monte Alban. Even more ancient African skeletons that would clearly predate Columbus’ arrival in the Americas were discovered throughout Central America and South America with some even being unearthed in what is now California.
