1. India wanted to prove to potential buyers of Brahmos its ability to dodge Chinese made missile defense system installed in Pakistan. It was a 100% success. The world (read Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries) witnessed exactly what it wanted to see. And of course, this could not be done on Ladakh border! 2. The officers dismissed (in fact, they deserve an award for national service!!) will get reemployed soon as these are now skilled personnel for training of Brahmos operators. 3. Why Pakistan wants to talk to India? If Pakistan stops being enemy of India, it will find there is a friend standing on the other side of border!! It is so simple. Except for Pakistan, terrorist organizations in Pakistan and N Korea, no other country in the world has a policy of the first use of nuclear weapons against India. PK was given the most favored nation status by India, but Pakistan did not accept it because of its first use policy. On an everyday basis, PK authorities and the general public tell Indians that PK is atomic takat hi, atomic mulke hi, and so on in every forum. Imran Khan said in the media during the abinandan release that we were going out of control as a nuclear state. But from 1973 onwards, the Indian army or politicians never told anyone to use nuclear weapons.
Even if it was a faulty launch , which is quite improbable since the launch includes many approvals and validations ,there is still an option of self destruction of missile which was not opted, why?

No responsible country talks of nuclear weapons publically. Pakistan is not the only country in the world having nuclear weapons . India became nuclear power much before Pakistan and has more sophesticated nuclear weapons.
Indians see no problem in Pakistan or Dr. Cheema's statement. For India, mission accomplished successfully with precision strike at choosen barren spot between two PAF basses and a city area; and checking/ verifying enemy's defense preparedness. Please remember - 3 Senior Air Force Officers have been dismissed from their Service and this can never happen unless there has been a grave professional lapse/blunder 'cause it has serious national / international repercussions . Had this been on 'purpose'- no one would have been dismissed for carrying out his 'duty' / 'purpose' or would that be so ? As an ex Major, and a responsible knowledgeable officer - you understand better than that and you are needlessly trying to 'confirm' in the opponent enemy's mind that this missile mishap was in fact on 'purpose' and not an accidental mishap ? I believe if IAF said something it should be believed and people should not make their own assumptions. Even the personnel of IAF are human beings and they can make mistake. There are various other incidents like this.
Instead, form a joint inquiry on the hundreds of terror launch pads in Pakistan. Make a formal request and then see their reaction. They talk of a nuclear power- Pakistan. One false move by them, will put them back to stone age in 3 minutes.
The important thing is for India to open military base in Greece or Bulgaria so that they can fly some sorties and say hello to Turkish coffees (ISIL/ISIS) in Istambul.
