Major, some of our regimental histories go back way beyond the East India company. The Travencore Nair army, that defeated Tipu in the battle of Nedumkotta and the same Travencore army that defeated the Portuguese Navel fleet at the battle of Kolachal was merged with the Madras Regiment.

Major, you are a smart guy. I have been a student of Pakistan Politics as well. "Jinnsh wanted to create an Islamic country from the get go". His references on having Hindus living side by side with Muslims was part of a speech he gave once. That's it. So Jinnah was not a "secular". That was part of PR done for him to give him a status similar to Nehru.

Staying on the other side of Indian ocean, in Eastern Africa I always observe both of you (Major saab and Vaibhav bhai) with different combinations of scholars and experts on various geopolitical issues, but the combination of you both is really superb (Jaidev and Viru), It doesn't seems that two scholars are debating on some serous issue rather two "langotiya yaars" are having some intimate gossips sitting at Lodhi garden or at Assi Ghat.... sir hats off to this "jodi"
