I wasn't aware of the extra bracket to support the steering column mount. My support had been reinforced with an additional piece of 1/4" plate before I bought the vehicle. I'm at a similar stage and waiting for parts to arrive.
I think that support was only fitted later to 2As, it is not a standard part for Series 1 but is a good upgrade. Waiting for parts … that sounds familiar
Hi, great video! Are you able to clarify which vehicle the later steering box which you fitted came from, mine in my 1956 86" has just given up in epic fashion, and I'm interested in doing the same upgrade. I've read many conflicting things online. Many thanks.
Thanks for watching. I don’t know exact details but I think it would have been Series 2 and early 2As upto suffix B, the outer column length is 23,5” , the later columns are 24.5 “ long
