Now that you decided to move to The Villages full time but, you are still coming part time. I am suggesting and did like the movers said to me to start bringing things that you know you don't need in the North but definitely need things immediately, at hand, for your Villages home. I made sure all the bills that I need for filling Taxes and other important documents, clothes were brought first. I actually took a trip just for that. Then I and the Movers marked my Must Open 1st boxes . So when they arrived I put those boxes aside where I can reach them. Good Luck to you and your wife. Time goes by quickly.

Since Medicare only pays 80% of approved medical charges, you should consider an additional plan. There are supplemental plans and advantage plans. What is important is to do your research and choose a plan carefully. You will be accepted into a plan without medical underwriting only the first time. Coverage and benefits do matter, especially as we all age. Good luck

I agree. After doing some research I should go with plan G & a drug plan which means I pay each month a premium but little out of pocket.

@GaryAbbott Sounds like a you have done your research. We are on a plan F with a good Rx plan D and only had to pay some small medication copay’s for my husband’s cancer treatments 5 years ago. Otherwise, all our office visits, blood work, and diagnostic exams are fully covered.

I decided to go with Plan N which is the same as Plan G, except that you have to pay copays. I'm 68 and tooyoung for Plan F (I missed the cutoff). Also have a drug plan.

How much notice did you give your employer that you are retiring? In the past year several people in my office have announced their retirement. The notices ranged from one year to 3 months. Enjoy your channel...Happy Holidays & Happy & Healthy 2024.

@GaryAbbott That seems like adequate notice. I plan on giving between 4 & 5 months notice. Once someone makes the announcement to their employer, it's kind of hard to walk it back.
