everybody out here making things complicated and you just explained that SOO much simpler than anyone else I've come across! I only just learned a couple weeks ago (46yrs old here and I played piano for 2 years when I was a kid and THOUGHT I was taught basic music theory back then) that notes are dynamically named based on the key of the scale you're playing in! and you just explained all of that so clearly! it's like there's this expectation by seasoned musicians that scales and note naming are just second nature and all students have to do is "just practice the scales" but how can anyone practice something they don't even understand? looking forward to reviewing more of your videos!

Yeah, any spelling of a scale is technically possible but some of them cause more problems than they solve, so you’re not likely to see G# major out in the wild too often.
