I feel like this is the perfect song to play during a scene with the villain encouraging the hero or their sidekick to cross over to the 'dark side' and unleash their power or something, I love it

I like how some of these turn out kind of psychopathic

A villain with nature powers, who thinks he's doing something heroic by trying to get the earth to reclaim itself, finds a young woman who also has powers. She just fled the scene where she had accidentally set her home ablaze after a fight with her father. He offers her a home, reassures her that she will be okay, and treats her as an equal. He knows she's dangerous, and also severely misunderstood. The two fall in love, and he convinces her that she needs to destroy the hero who has been destroying the nature he is trying to create. He calls her his firework, and that the only way she will be noticed as a good person is to destroy the 'evil' hero.

To me, this version screams REVENGE more than a villain's manipulation of someone else. Like a "break the cutie" tale in which everything bad that possibly could happen to a sweet, kind character happens to said character, and they are talking to themself with this song to say from this point forward they won't hesitate to kill.

Ironically, though the original song is empowering, when it's put in a minor key somehow it seems that much more empowering to me. Remarkable performance!

A lot of people are thinking of this literally, but I think of this song as a metaphor. When you're a kid, everyone's always telling you how everything's possible, and the world is a great place, and you can do anything you put your mind to. But as you grow up you realize the ridiculous amount of both hard work and sheer luck needed to get to the top, and you realize that the vast majority of people never really amount to much of anything, and the crushing existential dread sets in. I imagine someone coming to resent the hypocrisy of the world, its messages and lies, and singing a motivational song in a demotivational key as a demonstration of the irony of it all. Hence the line at the end, "now all the doors are closed."

For some reason this gave me the feeling of like.. A demon or something giving encouragement to someone it wants to possess or manipulate. The words are nice, but the manner they're presented in is somewhat chilling. I love it!

Let it Go was originally supposed to be a villain song, and some of the lyrics definitely sound that way. It would be awesome to hear you cover in in minor key!

As I listened to this I saw a mental movie. A figure struggling with depression/despondency/mental health. They start to sink to their knees, crushed under the weight of all the anxiety and self doubt. As the chorus starts to climb, they shake their head, "no!" And start to struggle back up. They will not be broken, it's not easy, it's not bright and colorful, but they keep fighting. Keep pushing, keep chanting to themselves, their own self-worth, until they believe it for real. When it gets softer near the end, they still are holding their burdens, but upright now. They can begin to step forward, one small step at a time. There's a small, defiant smile of triumph on their face. As they pass another figure down on its knees, they reach down a hand, resting one hand of solidarity on the shoulder, and the other grasps to help start to pull them up.

I kinda like this version better than the original. Fight me. 😳

This feels ironic in a way. "You don't have to feel like a waste of space" seems like it means something closer to "Of course you're a waste of space, honey, don't even bother telling yourself otherwise :)" but anyway this is awesome!!

The song sung like this gives off a tone that the person is dealing with depression and someone is trying to help them by telling them that they can’t be put down by others and they must find a light inside them and ignite it and let there true colors show

This cover... feels like a taunt. Like you’re a firework, and originally that seems glamorous, but fireworks all eventually become nothing. Show em what your worth, so that they can quickly move onto the next thing. Fireworks aren’t remembered, they’re easily forgotten. When talking about fireworks, there’s never an original one or one of a kind one; there’s always going to be someone just like you, waiting to be used. So yeah, Fireworks in a minor key just seems like a cynical taunt by someone who wants to crush your positivity and self-esteem, like a taunt by someone whose been through that soul-crushing experience. Someone who wants you to wake up before you experience it but it comes off as a taunt. This person whose telling you this is trying to use a metaphor to tell you how ruthless the world is but towards the end, they see themselves in you and are trying to coax you to explode out what’s inside you but in a quiet way. Thus the quiet dynamics. I don’t know how to describe it, so if you understand you’ll get what I’m saying.

I literally got shivers down my spine. I love Chase's Major to Minor album. The song just takes a whole new meaning when sang with such passion. Feels like I can connect and sympathise more with the artist who isn't afraid to make a song that exposes such dark emotions than an artist who keeps songs lighthearted. Some emotions and topics need to be taken more seriously than an upbeat 3 minute song. I could just keep on going on about how amazing Chase is, but then I would be writing 20+ pages, and even that wouldn't be enough.
