@@gymnasticsmasterclass And this could 100% (given she'd have a clean routine) save me from the mental gymnastics of trying to guess who gets the bars Gold.
Fast forward three years and Jordan helped UCLA and Miss Val win three NCAA Championships and she is now Head Coach at Arkansas for women's Gymnastics. The youngest ever Head Coach of any major NCAA program regardless of gender! I think that's pretty damn impressive!🌹
@@nathan-qo9rj Kyla's gonna be head coach somewhere if that's what she wants later on if she doesn't further pursue medicine. She got her BS in Cellular, cell and developmental biology,
Komova also showed a Chusovitina into the pit ( as if her ankles would ever withstand the landing) and a stunning double Y turn on BB. But that LO Jaeger 1/1 looked stunning even if it wasn't close to competition ready. I'd love for someone to finally compete it ( Eremina also trained it at some point), I'm already tired of the Nabievas...
6:34 she didn't "suffer" from a growth spurt lol she had a growth spurt, a completely normal event in growing up. it's so weird that normal things related to girls' and women's bodies are sometimes seen as injuries or abnormal in some way. the suffering isn't from a normal development in her body. the suffering comes from the unreasonable demands of the sport.
I miss Ashton’s clean uneven bar routines. She’s one of those who always seem to fly and float when it comes to uneven bars. I just want to know why she retired, when she was doing good training alongside Simone.
@@stephaniesampson8441 when I saw that, I felt so sad for her. And I think there were a lot of hate comments about her performance. But then, when Ashton revealed she’ll be undergoing surgery after that worlds, the haters have gone quiet (as they should).
@@solenlorenzy yes! But this one she competed in Belgium and in the podium training at the Olympics, but none were valid for naming it after her. I don't know if she intends to perform it this year, but it's likely that Shilese Jones puts her name on it if she competes at the Panams in June
i always feel so sad when i remember that i wont be seeing komova nor mustafina in tokyo 2021 and possibly after that. sad to know that my favourites are gone. i have a bias for russian gymnasts however bc theyre always precise and graceful. also, it made me sad to see that very few times komova seemed happy. if retiring puts a smile on her face, then thats enough to at least make me know she's happy. mustafina reasonably retired as well bc she is a mom. i hope she keeps doing what she loves. i'll never stop watching routines of khorkina, mustafina and komova.
I remember rumors back in the day of Vanessa Atler training a Kovacs (double back salto release) on bars. Anyone know if there’s any truth to this? If anything with her natural power I can see it being a possibility. Too bad the Rybackis continued to push a skill that completely screwed up her confidence and mental focus on that event.
Wasn't there something about Nastia Liukin training triple and quadruple twists on floor in 05 or 06 before she got hurt? Not sure if any video exists but I remember T*m D*ggett mentioning it I think.
Rebeca Andrade so unfortunate! Rectifying this comment in Dec23: not anymore. The commentator was right. Rebeca is FORTUNATE. She is a Champion and a role model among youngsters
