majoras incarnation just feels like something truly terrifying like momo tiptoeing and dancing like a ballerina in ur pitch black room O_O thats terrifying
Or maybe a monster creeping on all fours on the ceiling in your room, dimmly lit by the moon. Then, in your dream your brain tells you to wake up. You awake, to see a horrifying creature, as it lands on you, eating you.
I love the climactic ending of Majora's Mask. It at first almost feels against the spirit of Majora's Mask's theme of going in circles to finally break the cycle, and in most cases it still feels like that- But if you do all the side quests, help all of the zones, rescue the Deku Princess, win the Goron Races, find the Zora Eggs, and cure the cursed researcher and beat all 4 temples in 1 cycle, while also doing the Anju and Kafei Sidequest all at the same time, it honestly feels like you're saving the world for them. For all of them. The true time to beat the game is at the absolute end of the 3 day cycle, Anju and Kafei look out the window recognizing their immediate death, Romani is asleep in her house, and the four peoples look at the moon fall. Everyone has seemingly given up even after being saved by Link. But it's not over, because with every zone clear and every side quest completed in the same 3 day cycle, then you get to finish the job and feel like you've not only saved the world, but saved everyone in it. No other game has given me that same sense of heroism. Facing off against Majora in that timeline is as to restore hope to those who have accepted death.
Who knew a game of tag made for such a banger endgame? Anyways, on a lesser note, I kind of agree with you, but I also find the world order fitting as well. When you arrive to Clock Town, you're not truly suited to absorb your situation. The first three days are about you getting control over said situation back. Then the four corners. Really, the only connection between all four worlds is the four giants, placing big focus on Skull Kid's past as a result of that lone unity throughout the game. By the time you finally understand the situation you stumbled upon in Clock Town, you can go back and stop the threat you could barely comprehend before. ...But just when you think you know everything, Majora throws you a curveball by revealing his own intentions, hence the game of hide-and-seek and his battle. Of course, this is all capped off by making the first person you met here the last person to have their promise fulfilled. You give the Happy Mask Salesman Majora's remains, and your business is done. There's nothing more to learn. There's nothing more you _can_ learn, as Majora's true nature indicates. At least... Not in _Termina..._
Oh also, I finally understood what you meant by the three day time limit on your run, and I have to say that that's probably impossible. Technically it is thanks to getting the Ocarina. Sorry.
@@spidey5108 Well it's possible after beating stone tower and having all the stones unlocked with the song of half time. There's a couple of events, like the bomb mask, which are unique to the Kafei side quest but all in all, most events can be completed in exactly one rotation. Upon setting everything up it becomes very climactic to beat Majora.
@@birdofterror6628 Ooh, nice. Again, the thematics of the thing do sound cool. I simply also appreciate the tone set by Link having to rewind in order to make everyone happy one by one. Either way, Majora has had this coming for what seems to be a three day infinity.
How the ending plays out with each side quest you complete seems to imply that the various timeloops merged into one true sequence after Majora's defeat.
I love Ganondorf. But it's something about Skull Kid that just makes him way more terrifying in my opinion. Absolutely love this villain. He needs to make a comeback lol.
I mean.. Even if the Majoras Mask had been a DLC item, it was still there. It'd just somehow need to regain it's power and get a host, then it'll be the 2nd end of the world.
@@wyattbarnett3877 yes I know Majora was controlling him. "Skull Kid" can be corrected with Majora. I just have a habit of referring Majora as Skull kid. My bad.
i just love that the first phase is so menacing, the second is somewhat playful and silly (as if majora is just toying with link) and the 3rd phase is really aggressive cuz majora realizes it is about to loose if it doesnt stop playing around. i just love this game so much
I didn't ever feel that from a zelda game (at least not that I remember) but oh my God it was turned up to an 11 when I played Conker's Bad Fur Day for the first time a few months ago
Remember, Aonuma said that before BOTW2 being confirmed, Majora's Mask was thematically and artistically the darkest Zelda title of the franchise at the time of it's release, 6 years before TP came to be a thing
Majora's incarnation, in my opinion, is extremely bizarre, I mean the whole game is kind of weird and even confusing, but the significantly bizarre appearance and music that plays in this form of Majora gives a weird feeling. The music is... indescribable to me, it reminds me of those surprise boxes, which in the end would give a little scare to a child. However, Majora's Mask is an amazing game and obviously has beautiful lines and I would say sometimes they are kind of reflective. I'm really not a person who can describe how good a song is but the remix is incredible. "The right thing...what is it? I wonder...if you do the right thing...does it make...everybody...happy?" -Moon child
The song really just amplifies the chaos behind Majora's mind. She may be a malevolent being with no regard for life, but she also has her fun. (Yes, I refer to Majora as a female. Her voice as both her Incarnation and Wrath, the rather feminine appearance of Wrath, and how Majora just sounds like it fit as a title to a "Mistress of Chaos", y'know?)
@@justanantico6327 (It's kind make sense of calling Majora "She", i never thought about that actually, i maybe would refer as that's because the mask, that in my first lenguage (Portuguese) it's a feminine word so could be used to refer in this way. The character can look both feminine (on voice as you said) or masculine (in one of the forms, the body looks more masculin of o not wrong) so I just think any way is okay) But yeah, i don't think Majora care about things like.. Morality. But I have to say that the devs just made a interesting history, the things are just unsettling in general The music just amplifiers that, is purely chaotic which just fit perfectly in the character
Let's play good guys against bad guys... Yes, let's play that. Are you ready? You're the bad guy. And when you're bad, you just run. That's fine, right?
I remember fighting Majora for the first time and man, that thing really creeped me out the way it would hover about, the spikes waving around like wings with those tentacles undulating which it used to latch onto host’s faces. Then the incarnation showed up and everything turned to utter chaos and panic, the crazy masked demon laughing and singing with mad delight as if everything was just a silly game. When the wrath showed up that was it, the game is over and now it was time to finish everything, the fate of a doomed world in the balance. If anyone can play the original version of this game, I say do it, the visuals and art style truly makes it with the music. Still one of my favorite Zelda games by far.
Incarnation's phase was HILARIOUS. Incarnation is going *off the goddamn walls nutso* like a 5 year old on a sugar high, and Link is just like "FOR TERMINA'S SAKE, STAY STILL SO I CAN KILL YOU!!!" Absolute maniacal ADHD driven mayhem lmao
Mask and Incarnation: I sleep. Wrath: _Real $#!#_ So we know Majora came from an ancient tribe. They're nowhere to be found, so how old is he? Dress-up, catch, hide-and-seek, tag... the games don't stop when Skull Kid does. So my question is: Why does Majora choose the mannerisms of a youth long after he's done possessing or dueling them (assuming Link does play as the bad guy during tag)?
Majoras Mask: I will beyblade your ass to death Incarnation: ABSOLUTE SPAZMODIC MAYHEM WITH A HEAPING SIDE OF "IM FAST AS FUQ!!!" Wrath: DID SOMEONE SAY THEY LIKE WHIPS???????
I love that even when you save the world itself, it’s impossible to save everyone’s world. I mean, sure, the credits implies that everyone is living happy again, but the deku butler still lost his son and even worse, you probably never have saved the zora eggs in the last 3 days, I mean yeah, lulu’s voice returned in the credits, but that’s just means that she simply accepted her loss if you don’t save the eggs in the last 3 days
Time for the heart-masked boi to go brrrr! Old jokes aside, amazing remix as always! Day 309 of waiting for the Pledge of Demon remix. Let's see if I will get the remix before the next year...
