Makati is the financial center of the Philippines; it has the highest concentration of multinational and local corporations in the country.Major banks, corporations, department stores as well as foreign embassies are based in Makati. The biggest trading floor of the Philippine Stock Exchange used to be situated along the city's Ayala Avenue, before the stock exchange moved their headquarters to the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.Makati is also known for being a major cultural and entertainment hub in Metro Manila.
The city of Makati remains the richest local government unit (LGU) in the Philippines in terms of income.
The Ayala Triangle is a sub-district of the Makati CBD, comprising the parcel of land between Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas, as well as the buildings on those streets. Many multinational companies, banks, and other major businesses are located within the triangle. A few upscale boutiques, restaurants, and a park called Ayala Triangle Gardens are also located in the area.
Bonifacio Global City (also known as BGC, Global City, or The Fort) is a financial business district in Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is located 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) southeast of the capital city of Manila. The district experienced commercial growth following the sale of a 440 ha (1,100 acres) military base at Fort Bonifacio by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). The entire district used to be the part of the main Philippine Army camp.
Bonifacio High Street forms the physical core of Bonifacio Global City and is designed as a three-by-three matrix of high-tech offices and residential buildings, retail outlets and pedestrian-friendly roads and walkways. The grid design ensures a city center that is easy to navigate. 5th and 11th Avenues and 32nd and 26th Streets serve as the boundaries of the city center.
