Ok... after seeing this I might be back on board to a elemental nature saber. Your top piece without the wood looks awesome and the second sleeve was the only thing I was really missing
This just made the elemental pieces way cooler. They are the best set from Savi’s in my opinion. Can’t wait to build my own saber next year. Would have been this year but.... Damn Corona virus
Very cool man! I have almost the exact same build from Savis workshop but i dont know if i have the patience for this . . . I would definitely pay for it to be done though. Thanks for the video, great idea. Your saber looks bad ass now!
I don't understand why they bothered making them out of metal just to give them the same paint job they give to the plastic lightsabers? After bringing mine home and comparing it to a Walmart lightsaber the paint job is nearly identical and everyone thinks its plastic until they hold it. Just seems like a waste...
Because they would have to keep that polished look on all of the parts. That means any fingerprints or anything would show up. Matte hides imperfections, which lets them reuse the parts that weren't selected more easily
Is there a way to strip the paint without a wire sander? I really like the round emitter from elemental nature but I’m thinking the paint clashed with other styles
I'm going in June and making an elemental nature and after seeing this I want to try the same thing. What thickness of balsa wood did you use and how long did you soak it to be able to form it?
That's actually a question I regret not answering in the video! I tried MANY times to cut out the complicated shape on my Cricut, but every time I tried to break out the pieces in the balsa wood the entire thing would shatter. The piece was just too complicated and small to cut like that. If I had a stronger machine, I could cut a wood of the same thickness, but a lot stronger and I'm sure that would have worked fine. My other idea was to use leather in those slots instead because it cuts amazingly well, but I opted out!
@@RamenNoodleBudgets Hey there, I love how your custom scrap pieces came out in this video. I actually really like how the circuit piece looks without the wood, so I ended up doing the same thing and removing the rubber pieces. I'm curious though, how did you remove the residue left over from the rubber? I could really use some advice on how to get that stuff off
