Tip: In the PlayerFSMJump: (Transitions - Leave State) on To Idle State. Add Player is On Floor; this allows the Player to remain in Jump before landing to transition to Idle once the Player hits the ground. Or else the Player will shift to Idle on key press instead of being held. :)

58:31 Hi Alex! I am totally new at this and trying to make a surprise simple game for my boyfriend (who is a video game developer)! While following your steps I don’t see the “change text variable option” pop up when I type “variable”, “text”, or “Change text variable”. Is there a different way to find that option? I really appreciate your video!! It’s really helping me step by step in making my own game.

With the newest version of Gdevelop, Its just called "Variable" now. It will pop-down after you select the action. I am sorry it took me so long, to get back to you!

They will be soon. If you join discord, I will be posting them there first, or to Ko-fi. Before they go fully public. This series is being broken into short form videos with edits. The plan is to release those publicly as soon as that first edit is done, which should start by Tuesday. Got a new editor doing some work for me now :) My edits, suck!

Hi, what is a good method for localizing game text in GDevelop? I found a demo on the official website, which is stored in JSON and changed by events. However, this method is very cumbersome as it requires many steps to localize each string And there is no introduction to internationalization in the official documents, what should I do? thank you

The best technique is to use dialog structures. Write the json for each language, and when language is selected: load language json. You don't need to load line by line. A large json file can be parsed as you like easily. Perhaps the method you are thinking of is more taxing than what I am explaining - but I know it's only a handful of events to make it work. Edit: You can also use Yarn and do a similar technique if its localization of dialog only

@@LevelUpWithAlex Sorry, what I mean is the localization of control text, such as text on Text and Button, as well as text on all UI menus, not the content of dialogue text
