Iv actually seen some people place the larger rocks at the FRONT and the smaller at the back. This creates more depth in the terrarium when looking at it from the front and will make it appear bigger

@@PurchaseReviews no worries. its looks amazing. easily on parr with those professional fish tank designers who go for very similar styles. I am trying mostly closed bottle terrariums, which makes such landscaping a bit harder.

Hi Ian, I actually found the glass on someone’s hard rubbish that they threw out. Couldn’t believe anyone would throw out such a nice glass. So where they originally bought it from I wouldn’t have a clue.

I'm growing fern in a terrarium with aquarium substrate n it's doing really well. Quite surprised to be honest.

My moss is also still doing well. In closed terrariums where you can get some condensation they do even better, or else they need to be watered more frequently. The fern sounds lovely, how long you been growing that one for?

Could this substrate be used in a shady spot outdoors to fill in some cracks between stepping stones?

It probably could, but that’s an expensive way of doing it. I usually just use regular sand and sweep it with a broom to fill cracks.

@@PurchaseReviews Well I'm trying to grow moss in the cracks between these slabs, so...figured i'd need the appropriate substrate for it

@@StainsAndGrains Ahhh so that’s what you mean, sorry. I didn’t know you were trying to grow moss. Yeah, definitely would be a great base for it to grow on. I’m surprised there aren’t many videos about it. The moss is really thriving on it. Let me know how it goes.

@@PurchaseReviews I was also surprised I can't find videos about good outdoor substrates, I have seen plenty of examples of people growing moss in between pavers, looks pretty awesome to me
