hrm, I already have a couple of power drills and don't need a router often enough to justify one, this solves the problem on those rare occasions I could do with one, without the higher cost. Thank you. The more angle grinder and power drill based projects you post, the better :D Especially when they just clip on for use and let us use the drill as usual in between

While maybe not a good idea as a router, a drill guide can keep the drill depth. Use it like a drill press with a forstner bit for routing one spot a time.

Terrible idea, drill chucks are not designed to handle side load. Someone else just on youtube just built the exact same thing and the bit and chuck came out at about mach 10

Every tool has its purpose. This attachment might come in handy when you have to drill something big that doesn't fit in your drill press, but not as router.

You should glue a small bubble level to it, to ensure when you raise and lower (the bolts with springs), that your router bit is making a level cut along your work.

Good job, but the base (part with the large hole for the drill) should have been transparent for precision.. You could use plexiglass or similar.

Looks good but I fear that the chuck speed is too slow. The router I had and the one my dad had were both much higher rpm than any portable drill I've ever seen.

Brill, I just need to buy a band saw, a table saw, a large sander and the materials, then spend a day of my time making this then I've saved the $ I would spend on a cheap low end router. 😂

I've seen commercial versions of the jig that was created in this video, But I wonder... In some websites, the question or issue was raised that drills are constructed to "plunge" while routers cut sideways. I wonder if there really is a danger of operating a drill cutting sideways like a router instead of simply plunging.

As an easy portable jog for drilling straight holes this is actually pretty cool. As a router it has done challenges, but I might make one just so I can stop making 87 degree holes in things.

Chuck for side to side movement is not a good idea, your asking for trouble, this is dangerous, if you must use a Colet

Whilst I do applaud your fine efforts, I would just like to make a couple of engineering points... Standard drill chucks are not built to take side (radial) loads like this so there is a high probability of the chuck loosening & throwing the router bit... not good 😒 The drill itself is not designed for side loads so its bearings will wear more rapidly ...😟 The RPMs are not high enough for most routing, 20,000 rpm is normal for a router.😴 Other than that you did a fine job of making a router adapter accessory ....as long as it is only very seldom used... 🤗 😎👍☘

While you're in the hardware shop looking for all those bits, just buy a router.

I feel the materials and design is too bulky. Also springs don't guarantee your drill is always level. In the final moments of your video where you router that wood, I noticed the drill actually jumped, I think it needs support from the back end of the piece. Good effort though, can turn into a very useful jig

You need much higher rpms for routing than that drill provides !!!

Скажите, а разве из патрона фреза не вылетает часто ? На моей практике даже сверло тяжело крепко зажать в патроне, не говоря уже о фрезе, на которую давление будет идти не с торца а сбоку....как получается на самом деле ситуация ?
