Rob demonstrates how to reverse applique text onto a quilt. Rob chose the word "inspire," but you can use any word you like!
To make this project, Rob used his Shark Applicutter, Kaffe Wovens - Caterpillar Stripe Sprout Yardage by Kaffe Fassett for FreeSpirit Fabrics, and Heat N Bond Feather Lite Fusible Web.

You really do inspire both of us so very much Rob. The words that we would start with would be LOVE YOU OLD MAN and LOVE YOU YOUNG LADY. I call Don Old Man and Don calls me Young Lady. We have been married for just over 38 years now and we still LOVE each other like it was day one. Thank-you Rob your amazing and we both LOVE to watch your videos.

As usual you are really an inspiration!! IDK how the chose the colors, but mom has a blue bedroom and daddys is pink. This was making it very difficult to come up with a Christmas gift. I am making "fish pillows". But I'm taking your inspiration to make a banner for his workshop. My 85 year old dad still gets out frequently to fish. So thank you agin "Daddy's gone fishin" will be dads Christmas gift. You rock.

Our library has a laser cutter, so I am going to try to use it. It won't be as large, unless I do a part at a time. Cool thing is the laser finished the edges so no fraying!

I've never seen a free motion foot with just a tiny hole in it for the needle. Are those new or have I just been living under a rock? When you iron on the mirror image fusible is it the wrong side of the fabric? I think I would like "Family" as my first word as that is the most important thing in my life. You do inspire so many people, quilters as well as makers. Thanks!

TIP: when you print in any printer - you can send it on FlipMirr and it will be printed in the way you need it so you can skip the tracing part

I have multiple ideas. Create for my sewing / craft room. Maybe ' Kitchen' for a farmhouse style quilt I am mentally planning for the wall above our kitchen. Is it as easy to cut out smaller letters? Oh, and where do I email photos of a completed quilt?

That's it I'm selling my sewing machine I've come to the conclusion that you can not sew any man stuff on a sewing machine.

thanks for responding Rob. I really would love to learn how to sew a scally cap or some ppl.call them a jeff cap.and any thing with cork material .and of course something I have excepted the hate I get for wearing it … the fanny pack. also i was wondering about some of the processes that you use in making a quilt could you use them in other non quilt projects.once again thanks

@Big John - sorry you are feeling this way. I just made a great wrench “envelope” out of ripstop and also a padded wrap to go around my lawnmower guard so I can pull it up in the garage and save space. I think this project can easily look more masculine with different font and text too. Good luck and don’t sell the machine.
