...I´m out in the forest and marshes showing you how to build an atlatl and fashion an easy spear for it from scratch.
I first saw this style a couple of years ago in an old magazine and since then found out that Matt Graham is using this simple technique aswell.

In diesem Video bin ich in den moorigen Wäldern unterwegs um eine Speerschleuder und dazupassende Speere zu bauen.
Diese enfache Methode diese Waffe herzustellen habe ich vor einigen Jahren in einem Magazin gesehen und später fand ich raus das z.b. auch Matt Graham diese Sechnik anwedet um Survival-Atlatl herzustellen!

NICE ! The test throw of the spear showed you had a good choice and it flew straight. You are ready for small game today, and, that's why I think the atlatl is the first survival weapon a person should make if in a true survival situation. Also, you can protect yourself from a hungry wolverine, all in a short time.

Good lesson on making an improvised atlatl using only a knife. Even a knife could be made from hitting a rock with a rock. Thanks.

thanks for watching and iam glad you enjoyed! first time with a new mobile and i always talk very quite when i am out in the forest...just because i don´t want to miss something out there! i am from europe...live in germany close to the alps!

How straight does it fly over a certain distance without the fletchings? I used to throw Javelin and that was easier to keep straight because of its length and good aerodynamics. I make my atlatls with Hazel like you but I use goose feathers to fletch it. I do dream of making something purely with raw materials to catch a rabbit or other small game with.

It did fly pretty good because it was cut wet! Totally different story if it would have been seasoned. Actually I do use snowball for my darts and spruce. With fletching on a daily basis. So it really is just a quick survival weapon I made. One thing I tried and worked really good is just tying one feather to the end of the dart!
