This is my favorite tutorial channel by far! You actually go through the tools that you use rather than solely reviewing conceptual stuff. Thank you so much!
OMG thank you so much for this! I love dramatic lighting in paintings and always struggled to literally paint the light beams and shadows on my normal painting layer. Of course I use overlay etc., twitch the levels, curves at the end of the process and work with masks through the painting but I never thought about using levels with masks for the lighting itself. You saved me so much future working hours on my pieces! Again thank you, much appreciated
I was looking for a tutorial how to make this, but in a way I can also do in traditional art. But I was flabbergasted during the whole video. This is so simple?! Time to open Photoshop.
THANK YOU!! I was having a hard time on how to handle lighting in Photoshop but you really broke it down really good and it made me understand now how it works so tysm!
I am almost losing being a "beginner" with a bit of years of experience and I can confirm I used to obsess about small little unnoticeable details, which are the number one reason why I don't finish works, and I lose motivation half-way. I look at the tiny details and think "I'm too lazy for this shit" lol.
I happen to be recently introduced to digital art, so it's just practicing in black and white, and with this video the shadows and the lighting being explained so well, and on how it has to be achieved is just a huge thing, I hope u can share some information on black and white landscape painting, thank you ✌
Can u please let me know what is this art style called. Like u didn't even used pencil and all u just used soft brush and went with it. I want to learn it
It's more like a digital version of plein air studies. It's something that comes with experience. You can look at an image and develop an idea or sense of what goes where. And you can sort of replicate in your painting directly in colors, without using pencils. But please don't get intimidated by this. It's something that comes naturally with time and experience. The more you practice plein air studies, the better your senses will get. But this was not the topic of the video. The painting process was just a background visual filler. The main subject was how to transform that painting into something that looks dramatic using cinematic lighting effects. I hope you found that part of the video interesting. 🙂
Oh my! I'd been struggling to find the gist of cinematic lighting and coloring in background illustrations, and this video saved me. Thank you for this!
Thank you so much dude! Fantastic tutorial! Really deeply appreciate showing us different types of light sources, extremely helpful especially the tree one! ❤️👍
Oh gosh, this was the most useful video I saw in a long time! Impressive how you could teach this complex thing in a simple way. Simple amazing!!! Thank you so much!
This is my NUMBER 1 go to video for lighting. I rewatch it every single time I have a project. Till date, I always learn something new from it. Thank you!😊

This is really helpful. Definitely gonna apply these techniques in my next piece. Also you can directly play with colour look-ups and masking to get some really good effects
Absolutely. I made a separate video on color lookups and how to use them to enhance your art. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r99FOk0XXtQ.html
