really awesome tips!! i do have some question sir! im in the beginning of my concept journey now. i've been wanting to ask this: is it fine to make out vocal point values is more darker than our foreground? because i always heard about this composition rule for the further the object, the less saturated/ they get into the atmospheric perspective so the value would be stronger in the foreground. but i did sometimes find a piece that have their vocal point value is almost the same or even darker than the foreground, and i always wonder why but anyway thank you for making this video i learn about not to do this over detailing and keep it subtle if they're not the part of the vocal point! thank you so much beforehand!
Hey Thank you for your comment and your question ! So what you need to learn/understand is that we need to create something that is called "visual hierarchy". This hierarchy is determentd by the value structure. So lets say you have 3 selling point/focal points and you want the viewer to look at them in a particualar order. You can controll this through using dark vs light contrast. So lts say Focal point Nr.1 has the strongest Dark vs Light contrast. Nr2. has a lesser Dark vs Light and Nr.3 even less. Now what we also can do is using Color in the second level of adding attention. So lets say the separation is not strong enough we could add contrast colors or colors which are very contrasy to the rest of the image ( Green Forrest vs Girl with Red cape). The one thing you have mentioned which is correct the further the object is away from us the less contrast it should have because of the athmosphere between the viewer and the object. So if we cant make the object darker (because of its disctance) we could add something like a "contrasty color" (red) to it without destroying the value structure. In "most" cases things that are close to us are darker than things far away ( FG to MG to BG) So my advice !!! Think about where to place your Storyelement/Focal Point BEFORE you start the image. If my NR.1 read is in the background it can become more difficult to keep structure and readability. Hope this helps :))))))))) Thank you for your support !
@@Janos.Artzone OHHH!! Ahh yeah that's makes more sense after you explain it to me in this way! And if the value is good enough but i do feel there's still not enough punch in my Focal point, i can always utilize a color (that not gonna destroy my value too) for that extra impact to create this visual hierarchy more if im correct on this! Again thank you so much sir for answering my question :')) // please keep up your gods work, im gonna always support you!
