I've watched a lot videos of this recipe and I can assure you this is probably the most complete recipe of rice cake because you take the time to explain some details to make it successful. Thank you 😊 This looks yummy
Thank you so much for sharing easy recipes for many local favorite foods! Some of them are hard to find, don't taste the same, or just non-existent on the mainland, so being able to make it yourself helps to satisfy any cravings while living away from home. Love your videos, great work!!
Oh Snap! You said "Rice Flour". I need to check if Pukalani Foodland has any. Crossing my fingers they have some or I'll have to check Kahului on Monday. Wish me luck somewhere has some Rice Flour. I'm dying to make some of that sweet Japanese dessert. I LOVE Alllll Your recipes. God Bless You & Your Beautiful Family. Ahui`ho Aloha
Hi I know that I’m a bit late to this comment but at face value brown rice flour should also work for rice cake but you need to drastically increase the fermentation time or/and add a bit more yeast to it. Brown rice flour has more fat and the nutrients aren’t as good accessible as in white rice flour. it’s the same as baking with whole grain flour to baking with superfine flour. But on the positive side the brown rice flour cake should taste much richer and nuttier.
Omg thank you so much. I sure miss the Hawaii kine that was higher. Good to know to use the 6” pan. Again mahalo from Kalihi to Kuliouou to now Washington State. Hey do you remember the kine had layers with the top layer being brown? Was ono but must be humbug to make. We had fun to peel and eat layer by layer. Das ok thanks for your video on this. Going to make.
Hoe girl! Just saw you on the news. Congratulations! Well deserved! I've been learning from you for the past few years! Chee-Hoo! BTW I wanted to learn how to make this. I used to chase the Manapua man just to get rice cake! Too old to chase anybody now! (Bad Knees!)
