Joann thank you for sharing and explaining step by step for someone like me ,who wants to try this method for a project. Never did this before. Your video gave me the courage to try.
Instead of painting and then using mod podge mix the two together, it will save you a step. Did that with candy apples and it worked perfectly. ( use the Gloss Luster Mod Podge). Love your channel.
Hello Sweet Friend, Thanks for watching, we appreciate you so much!! Yes, he does all the hard work, filming, editing and uploading of my videos. He's a great kid!!
I'm making my first cupcakes, I've opted to use an 8oz foam cup, cut down and with liner modpodged to it, then cutting the rest of the cups into 3 strips ... the cups I'm using have the perfect ribs to cut along. then roll up the 2 larger sections of cup, hot glue inside and then 1/2 a foam ball glued on top of that. the cups cost me $1.88 for 50 ! plus there's extra foam left over for another craft. got the half balls cheap too.
Hi Sweet Friend, Thanks for watching!! What a clever idea, thanks for sharing!! I invite to join our FB Group Page, "Crafting with JoAnn Barrandey" so you can post a picture of your crafts, I'd love to see them. Sending you Crafty Hugs!!
You are so welcome!! My son and I have so much fun making some of these videos. You never know what is going to happen but it's all good. Thanks for your comment!!
Again I'm so happy for you doing this beautiful things...I'm in 💕💕 can we do that for a Christmas ornaments...I can't wait to make some... God bless you Joan...
Hey Joann! I just found your channel and I'm LOVING everything I've seen so far. I know this video is older, but my tip of advice for your next round of faux whipped mug toppers, is to cut a circle from foam board, cardboard or other thicker, more sturdy board of some kind and use your caulking, add a little swirl and place 1/2 of a foam ball on top of that so it doesn't collapse in on itself. Or maybe you've done that already. Anyways! Loving your channel, excited to see what you come up with for this summer and holiday season!
Joann!! I’m so excited I tried doing Frappuccino’s for my nieces party! They didn’t look as cute as yours but they didn’t come out to bad for my first time. Thank you for this cute idea! I would have never thought of this!!
I just love how calm you make your videos. Its so relaxing to watch. I just happened to stumble by your channel the other day and quickly subscribed. Ok byee off to watch another video of yours. Lol.
Thank You Sweet Friend, appreciate you so much!! A lot of my seasonal jewelry has been given to me as gifts from Family and Friends. They know I love seasonal Bling and the bigger the better, LOL!!
Your background sound... of children playing made this just that more beautiful to watch... just imagining you doing diy's while children are outside playing brings back memories of me growing up "the elders indoors getting the xmas decor ready for us to decorate while we play outside with our cousins"... that is unless those are real children 😄, then it's just perfect timing.
Hi Johann I just wanted to tell that your hair looks beautiful. Also thank you for all your ideas. Thank you Eric for helping you mom. Both of you are great for each other . God bless you and Eric thanks for being such a beautiful people.
Hello Friend, Thanks for watching appreciate you!! It would be harmful if they eat it. These would be best to make as ornaments to hang on your tree. Have a blessed day!!
Hi Dorothy, I love making the fake cupcakes, so fun to decorate and the best part, no calories!! I plan on decorating some Halloween ones this week. Thanks for watching, appreciate you Friend!!
Lol I give you credit trying to craft with that spray foam 🤣 when i saw that on your table , I'm like oh geez 🤣 me when using it just to seal gaps I make a big mess and all over me. Hugs friend 🤗 I think 🤔 I'm gonna eventually start making fake bake for decor idk how my husband would like that 😅 whenever I'm making a clay he's right there saying what are you making? Then when I tell him he's like OH 🤣 idk maybe would be a good prank to make these cupcakes but in chocolate since that's his favorite. Omg that would be too funny I'm gonna do it 🤣 here just a idea 💡 what about some marbles from dollar tree or them little glass pieces the cabochon shape ones for weight?
Hello Sweet Friend, LOL, You crack me up!! I think you should prank your Honeeito, too funny. Thanks for the tip on the marbles, I'm making some more soon and will have to try that. Happy Holidays to you and your Family, sending you Holiday Hugs!!
Thank you, Joann, it is a pleasure to watch your video making cupcakes, especially giving us hints and tips on how to create the best cupcakes, but in the UK we cannot always buy the exact same products needed, can you please tell us Brits what is "Speckling" if I heard you correctly?
Joann, I was a cake decorater at one time years ago and had all the tips plus doubled, the Wilton cake pans and doll picks or even dolls like barbies but different. I even made wedding cakes My ex cleaned out the closet after I told him not to touch it and when I went to work he thru out everything I had even my character cake pans that went together and all my ceramics I had and I had 2 latch hook rugs on the wall it took me 6 months to do both and he took a knife to them and all my jewelry even my turquoise to a pawn shop or sold it to his friends.
Hi sweetie, yes, I use to decorate cakes as well. I ever decorated the dolls. That is so sad what your Ex did to your personal belongings. So sorry you went through that. Hope you’re having a blessed day!! ❤️
The caulk technique will work, but u have to have something under it like half a foam ball to give it some support under the caulk. I do that also with the light weight spackle as well that way u also use less product to build it up. Just from my experience☺
These are super cute:) can I ask how do you store them and do you wrap them to help keep them clean ( dust free) ? Also how do you clean everything because it can’t go down the sink? Love seeing all the cute things you make:) tfs stay safe and God Bless:)
Hello Sweet Friend, Thanks for watching, appreciate you!! I keep my fake bakes in a plastic tub and they do just fine. When I use spackling I wash my decorating tips with a water hose outside. ❤️
I made some cupcakes using mason jars and used caulking as the frosting. They look amazing, but over time the caulking came loose from the metal lid. I ended up using E6000 to glue it back in. Do you think the spackle would work better on metal?
Hi Michelle, I love the idea of using mason jars for cupcakes. I've never used spackle on metal, I think it's worth a try. Appreciate you Friend, thanks for watching!!
Hello Sweet Friend, Thanks for watching, appreciate you so much!! I don't seal my cupcakes afterwards but you can spray to seal them afterwards. Some crafters use spray mod podge. Have a great day!!
Hi, Joanne! I made. Few of these but once they are dry, the whole “frosting” top just comes right off. Please help! Am I doing something wrong, friend?? 😭😭 Thank you!!❤️
Hello Sweet Friend, Wow, I have never had that happen, I don't know what to say other than I will have to make one again and see what the problem might be.
Hello Sweet Friend, Thanks for watching, appreciate you so much!! I got the cases at Walmart a long, long time ago. I have since found some smaller cute ones at Dollar Tree in the toy section. They are for storing the little hot wheel cars but work great for storing embellishments.
Hello Sweet Friend, Thanks for watching and Welcome to my Channel, appreciate you so much!! I also invite you to join my FB Group Page, "Crafting with JoAnn Barrandey" Have a great day!!
When you put the sparkling on you dont have to cover the hole top or can you cover the hole thing ? I have always wanted to try this but I have been to scared to .
Hello Friend, Thanks for watching, appreciate you!! I cover the whole thing. Don’t be scared to try it. I was scared at first but got over it pretty quick. I love to make these for every season.
I have a question regarding the spray foam, If I don't use the complete can, can I use it again later or will it clog up and can't be used again? Thank you for any information.
JoAnn, I tried a couple of times to Decorate my cup cake and the spacking looks and acts like it's thin enough but either my sandwich bag bust or the something goes wrong. . I'm new at this and could use some help please...Bonnie
Hi Bonnie, Thanks for watching Sweet Friend, appreciate you so much!! If your bag is busting your spackle might be too thick. I squirt several squirts of water from a spray bottle and make it thin like cool whip. Try that and see if that helps, but don't give up, keep trying, you will get it to work for you.
Hi Joyce, Thanks for watching, appreciate you Sweet Friend!! The mix is called spackel and it is a product found in your hardware stores, it is used to patch holes or bad areas on walls. Hope this helps.
Hi Sweet Friend, Thanks for watching, appreciate you so much!! In this tutorial I used red and green food coloring to color the lightweight spackle. You can use any color of paint, as well.
I used Apple Barrel Lite Mocha for the base of the cupcake and then I used food coloring for the spackle, green and red. Now, I just mix my paint in, instead of food coloring.
As I was watching your video I noticed you had the light would spackle from the Dollar tree, I happen to think that's a lot of junk first of all it's gray and it doesn't hold up that good I buy the better brand of lightweight spackling at Menards it's a bigger tub and it's way better quality just thought I'd let the viewers know
Hi Florence, Thank you for your comment!! Dollar Tree lightweight spackle works great for me, I just let my viewers know what I use. And yes, it is a shade of gray but I always add paint to it. The cupcake ornaments from this video are still as pretty as the day I made them almost a year ago. In fact I am decorating some fake Halloween cupcakes this weekend using the Dollar Tree Spackle. Appreciate your tip and thanks for watching, have a great weekend.
