This is the second part of my video on Making High Density Foam Head Flies. In this part, I show how to assemble a fly using my original technique of melting a hole in the heads, and how to properly attach them to a hook shank.

Love your stuff. From Minnesota, do a lot of warmwater fly and jig tying and fishing. Great techniques and you always get to how to do this for the guys making enough for personal use,. Keep them coming, great work.

Hey Chris I have met Stu a couple of times at fly fishing events in south Florida where we both live and I have been a fan of his since I was a kid. Do they float underwater like suspended off the sand?

They will remain in the surface, unless you do some creative weight addition.

Are you painting these high density foam heads? What with?

They can be painted with any acrylic paint like Createx, either with a regular brush or airbrush. They then need to be coated with a water based clear coat like Component Systems Lure Coat to preserve the paint.
