1:20 Im so surprised you could make a head shape from moving around so little points- i love the process though im not yet at this speed yet. Nice insight

Good video mate. If I may suggest that you slow down on the key moments. You threw in a bevel on the face that was so quick it was easy to miss! Also, references on the body will really help you. All good though. This is a very useful video. Thank you. 😊

Hi, this is probably the best tutorial style I have come across for low-poly modelling. For those saying this is too fast - you can always pause the video and use your brain to figure out a bit of it yourself. There is a bunch of documentation on these Blender features that you can look up in more detail if you struggle with something. IMHO this is a perfect showcase of a character creation process - of course not every button and feature used will be explained in great detail. For total beginners I suggest getting familiar with the UI and the basic functions first. Thanks Thomas, you have a new sub!

I agree, I'm still learning blender and the way these tutorials go, I can finally follow through with it, however, everybody's pace is different. People can still learn from beginner tutorials but still have trouble with the program and tutorials that are a little too fast.

This is a great tutorial, thanks for sharing, i appreciate the brisk pace as an intermediate modeler whos already comfortable with the blender interface and shortcuts. I love your edgeflow.

This isnt a speed run dude this is a tutorial, wayy to fast to keep up, stop trying to flex how fast you are and make a tutorial people can actually follow.

Honestly, I enjoy the fast pace. A lot of tutorials are way too slow for me, but it would be nice to have more of a clue about the various keyboard shortcuts you're using along the way. I know the keypresses appear on screen most times, but they flash past very quickly.

23:08 min long video I was watching it at 0.75 speed and it took me 2 hours sheesh, but those 2 hours were worth it. Just a note but could you please do everything a bit slower talk a bit slower or something XD, over all great video, tbh the best one about low poly character out there.

It is kinda hard. I usually look at others images and just do experimentation for the look.

No offense, but I would've used round cube (radius 1.00) to make the head - it's maybe harder that way, but IMO it gives the final result more _organic_ look; this is a bit blocky - but that's only _my_ opinion, 'cause I've always liked more realistic looking graphics...
@ThomasPotter
@ThomasPotter Год назад
I usually use a cube and subdivide it. Then I have to make it more square because the head isn't that round. Making head super round isn't translated that well in topology this low poly.
