Palafox mentioned a lot of suggestions here but this can be a quick fix -- elevated walkway / bikeway. Because traffic will soon be moving slower than walking. Those who insist on driving should be charged - congestion charge.
It is a great idea. Walking is also good for the body, a good exercise, good for the blood circulation, etc., etc. Perhaps we can also do that to all the cities in the country. It is fun walking. Unless, we are going to a farther place that we really need transportation to get there faster than walking. Walking also will help the environment by reducing pollution.

It's congested because there are too many private busses and jeepneys plying around.some highly developed countries you don't see many private passenger vehicles. They only have one mode of tranportation, it's called Metro bus.They only stop at bus stops and they arrive at sheduled time.
Tell Meralco to relocate their poles that are blocking the sidewalk. Most of this poles are occupying almost half of the side walk. Sometimes if you're not careful you'll bump into them.
Buti pa lumipat nalang kayo sa BUKIDNON a nice fusion of urban and rural area. Air-con buses with tablets, Cr and even a canteen can travel to the city within 20 min with no traffic and on 8 lane roads. Buses travel regularly even to the farthest towns. crime rate and population density between towns are low. Commercial districts are nearby. Two of the best university in the PH are also located here and are very accessible. But the greatest thing for me is the 4g network accessible even on the farthest mountains even on our farms

We as an ofw who are driving in dubai streets experince this and will be very much eager to share the information for our beloved country.
