Welcome! I am an aspiring polyglot with a degree in Linguistics. I speak English, Spanish, French, and Esperanto, and I'm currently working on Thai. I make videos twice a week to talk about my methods of learning languages and to try to help others make language learning faster, easier, and more fun.

Thank you for talking about comprehensible input! I totally agree with what you say - CI is the most effective way to acquire a language! However, I disagree with one thing: I don't think it's easy and anyone can do it without any training! I had to learn so much when I started, and I'm still learning. I had to read a lot about theory and methodology. I had to learn how to make the input not only comprehensible, but optimal. I had to learn different techniques. I have to admit I put not only a lot of thought into my videos but also a lot of time, it's not so quick for me. Sed denove mi volas danki vin por disvastigi la scion pri la plej bona lernmetodo!

You have inspired me and teach me a lot for a while now haha. I guess it's time to try out the RU-vidr career. I'll post the link to my channel, it's going to be a Spanish course for beginners and intermediate learners, and the occasional post for advanced

I clicked on the video to find tips, but damn was I surprised to find my own channel on the list! Thank you so so much! I really apprechiate it and hope I can help even more people who are struggling with their German! And just two other things: - I've been uploading for about 6 months, now I'm close to 1000 subscribers, but 4000 watchhours... at least for me that's not so easy as it sounds in this video. Although I don't advertise my channel, you sure have to work for every single viewer. - And if any German speaker is around: I'm also open for collaborations! So feel free to contact me!

Hi Aaron! Great video :) What an interesting idea for a youtube channel. Just wanted to say that while the demand for languages like Klingon might be less, you would get some of the most committed language learners watching :) I personally would watch everything an Arabic or Turkish channel made!

It would be amazing to see a completed spreadsheet! I've been looking for something for Polish since I started 2 months ago, but the only channels I find are too English based or too intermediate for me. I still find them good resources and learn from them (Especially Super Easy Polish and Learn Polish Podcast with Kamila). I just would love to see something like this for Polish as well. I'm really curious what your opinion is on TL subtitles and whether people should include them on these teaching videos. (so English subs on teaching English, French subs on teaching French, etc). While I want to speak, reading and writing is an equally valuable skill to me. I also find knowing how a word is spelled also helps me pronounce it better. Comprehensible Thai does not have this, so I assume you do not feel they are as important or maybe not worth the effort (since adding subs can be a LOT of work).
@turntablestudios
@turntablestudios 3 года назад
I'm not Fingtam lmao, but I love having subtitles, even as an advanced-intermediate French speaker. I don't need them, but I like to download them and turn them into scripts, so I can memorize the video, and practice intonation + accent from a native speaker.

For Slovak there's this channel: ru-vid.com/show-UCUPgmAhUy6NkMxzRTmks55w For Dutch there's a video series called "Woord voor Woord" on YT I would also count Español con Juan for Spanish because he's very expressive. For Finnish, there's Jarp's Art: ru-vid.com/show-UCoDbIqejIAS9eZgYNzE2FCg I myself am trying to start one in English (although I've only put up two simple videos so far): ru-vid.com/show-UC5mv8PRK5quDMzuB_MGiSJQ

Do you have any advice on how to get onto language tutoring platforms? Sometimes when I look at some of them they seem all filled up or not accepting any more people. So it seems there must be some trick to get into the gate.

Here's a channel that is pretty good in Korean: ru-vid.com/show-UCr_Ed0X6CvMKSgRBiMz59tw When she first started uploading, she had an English intro in every video, as well as a "see you in the next video" in English as well. Now (thankfully) she's dropped the English. She's been experimenting with the format, and lately has added more interesting stuff with picture descriptions and short stories. She seems to be uploading consistently, as well.
