The merged files can hold up to 2gb :) this was my life the past couple days! Organizing ALL of my cc and re-merging files...went from 30gb to 15...and now I can play again yay!! but knowing me I'm about to go cc shopping haha...🤣😎
I recently learned how to merge, my biggest merged file is 134MB and ALOT of my cc is missing in game somehow.... I seen you said a merge file can hold up to 2GB tho do you know why this is happening or the cause? :((
@@hannahjackson4454 you can't merge sets (already merged files) and you shouldn't merge any script files...what program are you using to merge your files? Are you using Sims 4 Studio? I usually have no issues merging up to 2gb and if there are problems, the program usually specifies what files failed to merge...the only other thing I can think of for you is if you have duplicates or are missing meshes, I use the Tray Importer program to check for these types of issues...I hope some of this can help but let me know if you have any more questions or need help. Good luck 👍
@@Daesgamingroom From my understanding, the Sims 4 runs slower with more packages because each package is opened 1 by 1, so even though the size of the packages have effect, consolidating the amount saves more time and adds effeciency
Dude merging is so underrated. I've only recently bothered to do shit like that and the difference has been soooo massive Tho if like me you were at any point kinda lazy with sorting PLEASE look through it all before hand. I merged all my shit a few years ago and recently unmerged it all only to find sliders, default replacements, and somehow someway traits that were so old that they were still broken from that update we got in what... 2018? 2019? Save yourself the headache... 🙃
I definitely don't have as much cc as you but my computer isn't built for gaming. Currently it takes so long to load up and then load up Sims on top. The game can also get slow so maybe I'll try this out!
Upgrade your drive to ssd if you can! I just did and omg my computer is fast. Mine was super slow even just turning it on or trying to surf the web and the game was so laggy but after upgrading it's like a new computer. It's so fast and the game starts up (even with all my mods) way faster than it ever did before!
@@nairalise if your desktop is upgradeable you should have a slot in your tower to put the SSD in. You could find them online or at Best Buy for about $70-100 and it'll make all the difference.
I highly suggest keeping copys of each folder for adding and deleting content... Then delete from s4s and merge again. Also DO NOT merge mods or anything that might need to be updated. I just manually put those in my mods folder. Also only one file deep in the mods folder... Like mods folder- and one folder to organize but thats it. And just because I'm lazy I organize my merged files by alphabet. They are easier to locate and make sure I don't duplicate.
I love this video and I wanna try it so bad!! I know it will help me! Now to get the motivation to merge 140GB+ of CC… Edit: I finally did it and this took my load time from an hour and a half to literally 10 minutes I wanna kiss you and cry at the same time omg!! Thank you so much you are doing the lords work!
For some reason this worked great with clothing but when got to hair, all of a sudden my hair that I merged is missing in CAS, luckily I was able to restore but not sure why it wouldn't show up
I hear broken CC will make merging like not possible or something? What do we do if we need to delete our broken CC but dont wanna go through all of it.
hi, are u still there? i can't understand why everyone in the comments said the way merge file make reduce cc folder . But i still have the same ammount of MB, like 750 is still 750 MB
I've been merging all my files for gameplay but keeping them unmerged in an external SSD card for safekeeping.. managing cc for the sims 4 is like a part time job LOL
Say if you merged hair package 1 and hair package 2, both the packages have 60 hairs in them individually, so would you be able to merge the merged packages? Sorry if this question is confusing😅
This is what I wanted to do, lol. My cc for build mode is just merged all together with no separation for each category and it's been driving me crazy. And so I thought of this idea but was afraid to try it out since I was afraid it would not un-merge. I haven't tried it out, but I thought of an idea already to experiment on this that wouldn't really harm your previous cc's. Don't know if you'd like to hear me out since your comment was posted three months ago. You must have figured it out or moved on, lol. Let me know if I can be of help, maybe.
@@Kreative_kelly Seriously, same. I doubt that this would actually work, although I still do want to try for myself. It wouldn't harm the cc's you use, anyway. Go and download a couple of *unwanted* cc. Make sure you have enough cc's downloaded to create two packages. Maybe download 4, or 8.Then, merge together those two cc packages that you just merged, then play The Sims 4 for an hour. Look for the cc's you downloaded in the game to see if they are there with no errors and if they're working fine. I suggested you play for an hour so that you could observe the game if it's running well. If the cc's aren't there, if the cc's has some errors to it, if TS4 starts lagging, crashing, and stuff, then you already know what's the problem. If you confirm that merging merged packages don't work well for TS4, you could just delete those unwanted cc's. I really do suggest experimenting on unwanted cc's because if you did this with the cc's you use, you could have some errors in the game or even lose them if this doesn't work!
So one issue I have is that when I load into sims 4(new save) it shows a white screen but when I look it up it shows it's all these other things and some of my cc can't be opened with sims studio:(
How do you always know what I need when I'm working on it. xD I was merging CC but not sure how much I should merge together. Do or can you merge anything outside of CC?
thanks for your videos you do a great job! I do have a question though that I can't seem to find an answer to, hopefully you can help :) do you have to separate hair for example, like only female hair merged, only male merged, only kids etc ?
I merged my hairs correctly, all files under 2gb, put the merged packages in my mods folder but they didn't show up in game? Can anybody help me pls? 😭
thanks for tips, question: can you merge mods for example like little ms sam mods because there are lilke all together a lot of files I know you can merge the script files but the package files? I have most of her mods and all together with the scripts they come to like 400 files
u can get the sims4 mod manager and go to problems then duplicates and it tells u which ones u have more than once and then u just put delete all and ur done
@@babygirlhehe9748 no not when it’s merged .. I mean I have 15,000 mods after I merge all 15,000 of them can I delete the individual mods . Because when you unmerge it makes duplicate files
@@LaniBrasi i think you just answered your own question 😅 you have to unmerge it and then you delete what you don't want and then merge it again and replace the previous merged file
Im sorry if I missed this part in video, but I was wanting to know if I delete the package files after ive merged them? Not the merged package. Just the individual ones.
