Keep walking with Jesus brother! I pray your growth is equipping you. But I also felt a warning in my Spirit when I read this. Out of love as one who has seen this go both ways, be careful! Sometimes we interpret our circumstances through the flesh in what we want. If there is a "girl I'm interested in", but the group looks the same, then why would this girl be worth your time? Is she building you up or drawing you in through your desire to not be alone? It could just as easily be a snare from the enemy trying to draw you back into the same swirl of destruction and out of what God is doing. PLEASE hear me. I gain nothing from speaking but the hope that you would hear clearly from the Lord and not be blinded by the desires of the flesh. If you have not ALREADY seen God fill you with the "desires of the Spirit", which is the fruit of the Spirit, then watch yourself that you don't begin to produce the desires of the flesh. Don't linger there in arrogance, thinking you are stronger, if you have not had a season of being proven in the wilderness with Jesus. We don't come out of the wilderness self-confident, but with a limp, leaning on your beloved Jesus! Get alone with Him and open your hands to him in surrender. Ask yourself, "Am I willing to let this girl and group go if you say so?" If you feel even a hesitation, please but them off for a few days and wait before the Lord, even in fasting and prayer, lest you find yourself right back in Egypt where you started! Praying for you with a heavy heart and burdened spirit! I long for you to enter into the upward call of God in your life! You are fearfully and wonderfully made, but don't spend more time in the wilderness than you have to thinking you are strong when God is looking to teach you weakness, where His strength will manifest! Please believe me: I spent over a decade in the wilderness because I thought I could serve God, not knowing I was serving in my own strength and not with Him in His strength! The Lord Jesus loves you!

⁠@@BecomingOne234Just read your comment now, I forgot I had reply notifications off.. After reading your comment, I will definitely have to reconsider her friend group. It probably sounds strange, but I’ve been getting to know this girl pretty fast and I’ve learned that she actually doesn’t consider this friend group to be her closest friends or anything, just people to hang out with. As for her, I would definitely say she’s been building me up - we have lots of deep conversations about life, how we used to be, how Jesus changed us for the better, spiritual warfare, etc. After reading 1 Corinthians 15:33 as the other reply suggested, it does seem that I should not make these friends of hers my company. I can’t always avoid talking to them, but for now I’ve decided it’s best to step back, intercede for her friends in prayer, show the love of Jesus to them when it’s opportune, and trust God to handle thd rest. Thank you so much for your reply! I think I need to be more careful about her friend group, I had not previously considered things in that view. Also need to find a healthy balance of talking to her and other things - we both enjoy talking so much that we video call for hours on end without really thinking about it. She’s awesome to talk to and relate to, I’m not sure if she likes me in the same way but I’m planning to stay friends with her for a while as I keep focusing on Jesus and getting to know her.
