I love this bracelet! Thank you so much for all your videos, they are very clear and I learn a lot 😊 May I use o-beads instead of 8 demi rounds in this design?
Thanks so much for watching! O-beads are larger than 8/0 Demi rounds, so they might be too large and create a bit of a wavy edge, especially around that central oval element. I haven't tried though so I might very well be wrong! 😁
Thank you! 💖 Yes a toggle would be good too, but since you have to sort of stretch the bracelet out a bit to put the bar through the loop, the bracelet might end up a bit more loose to accommodate for that - if you don't mind that then a toggle or a button or a lobster clasp will be great! A magnetic clasp will be great as well, and you don't have to maneuver too much so the bracelet can be closer to the skin.
Frankly most of the clasps available now are quite strong! You will get the best hold with a clasp that closes top to bottom (as opposed to two discs snapping together) and has pegs on the inside that prevent sliding. Usually you can see the little pegs in the photos if there is a photo showing an open clasp, for instance see CYM-SD-012499-GP - most Cymbal magnetic clasps have some sort of extra protection like this :)
Thank you for noticing the nails 💅😁 I'm not sure if the count changes, I'd risk saying swapping for Miyukis will not make much difference, but I'd have to test it out 🧐 Which I just might, because I loved making these, maybe I'll make a pendant to match!
It's all a matter of preference. Miyuki do have a sort of an elegance in their shape, and are more uniform across colors than TOHO, but TOHO are more accessible and sometimes the shape variance can be a useful feature. As a designer, I'm always on the fence myself ;-)
