Today on Booze On The Rocks we are looking at How to Make The Perfect Rusty Nail. This was a request from keetojm on Reddit. So I decided to take a crack at this. It surprised me how sweet it was. This is an interesting choice for a cocktail. Tell us what you think.

1 ounce/30 ml Drambuie
Garnish

This cocktail is pretty good. Its sweeter than I thought it would be. Its sort of a guilty pleasure. An after work and a meal. Sit down kick you feet up and relax.

"Easy to make" is a good reason to drink this. I usually like things fairly simple. Will try it.

A great classic cocktail, perfect for this time of year. Heaven is a fall evening sitting around a campfire, yet still chilly enough to be wearing an old comfortable sweater with a Rusty Nail in hand.

The single greatest and easiest drink to mix and enjoy! 1.5oz of drambuie and 3oz of ANY scotch. My love of this has had me try ALL my scotches, all of my Irish whiskeys, all of my bourbons and all of my rums! Drambuie works with every single one!

My preferred ratio is 3:1 to make it a little less sweet, I like the bitters too.

I just had one of these at my local pub the other day for the first time ever. I don't know the ratios they used, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'll take another one, please...

you put it on your C list? no man! give it another chance :P this is my drink when i finish my night shift at the bar and like to relax before i close the bar. try to garnish it with a lemon peel and spray some of the oils in the drink and tell me if you will see any difference! ;) plus if you find it too sweet make a ratio of 60 ml. whiskey and 20 ml. drambuie. ;)

I did at the time. However I will try it with the Lemon Oils to see how that changes the flavor. And I will try slightly less Drambuie to see how it affects the taste as well.

Hi, Dave. I haven't tried this cocktail yet. I'm just commenting about how I noticed in your older videos that when you were introducing a drink, you would also tell us what movie/TV show it had some kind of a connection to. I'm just saying that I really enjoyed that little tidbit of fun information.

During Covid I built a small bar in my shop. I am a contractor by trade. I named my new place The Rusty Nail. Then a friend introduced us. This is not only the worst drink ever, but our first timers drink. If you come the first time, you have to have one, and then I also give them a custom token that has my logo as a prize for keeping it down..it does grow on you 🎉🎉🎉

Nice Video...Cut the Drambuie portion a bit, increase the scotch, Leave out the Bitters dash, and garnish with a lemon peel.....try it....It's pretty good
